Subject: Is praying to created beings scriptural? |
Bible Note: I think that when someone is pursuing a point in question that they should follow it up with Bible verses that don’t conflict with other verses on the same topic. If this is insisted on by all on the forum it would eliminate a lot of problems. That brings me to something that I read the other day from a little booklet that I get called Sola Scriptura the article was by Dr. Dan Hayden. The verse mentioned was 2 Tim. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: He stated, and as most know, the word (INSPIRATION) comes to us from the Greek word (theopneustos). For those that don’t know, the word in the Greek it is a compound word from THEOS, God, and PNEO, where be get the word pneumatic or air. The air from God or breath of God i.e. God breathed. The interesting part, as was pointed out, was that the manifestation of the breath of God is the written Word or the Bible. He used the illustration of us breathing on a cold pane of glass so that our breath is visible, being collected on or condensed on the cold surface as moisture. God’s breath is condensed on the pages of the Bible causing the Word of God to become visible. Well I thought I would pass that on to the Clan for what every you might get out of it. CDBJ |
