Subject: Is praying to created beings scriptural? |
Bible Note: If what you are proposing is true, then she is always here and can hear everything I say and do. Even if I do something that would make God displeased, she sees that. Would that not cause her pain? I thought scripture says there is no pain in Heaven? The only ones we know of that scripture tells us about, who died and who returned and we know thier reactions was Samuel (give me others, if I missed any)and he was not happy about it, nor did he show any concern about his relatives here on earth. I don't know how those in Heaven view us living, I think their joy is just to be in the glory of the Lord. When we join them, they will remember and recognize us, but anything we have done on this earth will be as nothing to them, the hurt we have gone through or have caused will not be known to them. The joy will be that there will be one more worshipping God truly in spirit and in truth. Anyway, all this is moot, seeing as scripture can tell us nothing concrete about this. I do resent the time that is spent praying to others when it could be time praying to God and being in His presence and developing a closer relationship with Him. Debbie |
