Subject: Raven and John Reformed, Baptism? |
Bible Note: Greetings Raven! Thanks for your response my friend! Since there are so many verses to deal with, how about narrowing the topic down some. Let's compare two verses. You quoted Mk. 16:16 - "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned" I quoted Acts 16:31 - "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household." If you are correct about baptism being necessary for salvation than Paul gave an inaccurate answer in Acts 6:31. He said that all that was necessary for salvation was to believe and did not mention baptism! Was Paul wrong? Did he give an inaccurate answer? How could he have possible forgotten to mention baptism if it were necessary for salvation? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
