Bible Question: What's the best advice you can give someome (a Christian) who is goint to marry a Catholic? Is it wrong to marry in the Catholic Church? Should the marriage be in a "Protestant" church? What other things need to be considered under these circumstances? Thank you in advance for your advice and input. Blessings! |
Bible Answer: Dear JMR, I am a former Catholic. I was raised in the Catholic Church and schooled in Catholic schools. It is not a cult, it is a true Christian denomination. I was saved reading a Catholic Bible in the privacy of my own home, over 24 years ago. Within the Catholic Church there is a group of people known as "Charismatics." These are born-again Christians. I left the Catholic Church and eventually was baptized in an Protestant denomination church because I felt a more Bible-centered church was more appropriate and adult baptism what the Bible teaches. However, we are not to be "unequally yoked." [2 Cor. 6:14-16] That has nothing to do with denomination. It has to do with the state of the person in question. Is he/she born again or not? That is what is important. And, in so far as which church to get married in, I do not believe that matters as long as they are married in the eyes of God without having to submit to promises to certain denominational laws which restrict one's walk with the Lord.
