Bible Question: What's the best advice you can give someome (a Christian) who is goint to marry a Catholic? Is it wrong to marry in the Catholic Church? Should the marriage be in a "Protestant" church? What other things need to be considered under these circumstances? Thank you in advance for your advice and input. Blessings! |
Bible Answer: An Answer and a Question ........................ Dear JMR, In my opinion, the location of a wedding is not a moral issue. It is not wrong to get married in a Catholic church, or even in a courthouse for that matter. There are some related issues that could be a problem. Depending on the Catholic church, you might have to become a member of their church to get married there. Are you willing to do that? I fully believe that it is possible for a Catholic to be a Christian, but there are some specific teachings of the Catholic church which most protestants would not be willing to agree with. A final question is more personal. Just over a month and a half ago, you mentioned that the marriage would be about 3 years from then. Now it seems like you are already in the planning stages. Why the appearantly sudden shift in time tables? |
