Subject: How important is your Church? |
Bible Note: 10 years? Only two. But before that, I jumperd around a lot. I started out in one where they taught "this is the way it is and if you don't believe it you're going to hell." That pastor would leave and we'd get a new intern pastor who said "this is the way it is and if you don't believe it you're going to hell." But it was different than what the last guy said. Then another intern and the same scenario. Most of the ones I attended after that I simply didn't agree with their doctrine. I couldn't find it supported in the Bible and moved on (this was Jr. High/Sr. High time). I finally found one that I didn't disagree with anything they preached. I stayed there for a number of years (until a new pastor came and started doing all kinds of things I didn't like). Then, looking back, I realized that the reason I had stayed is because they didn't teach anything I disagreed with. But that was because they didn't really teach anything. Sermons were about smoking, drinking, being mean or rude, etc. No Jesus anywhere. Now I have found one that pretty much sticks with the Bible. There are a few places doctrines come in, but for the most part, I simply just disagree (most of them are small). There you go! Bless...ArtS |
