Subject: Church is kidnapped to Sodom! |
Bible Note: Dear Ivory313, I would agree with this last person, justme, who has replied to your situation. I would agree that Matt. 18 needs to be your first answer. It makes it very clear how we are to confront a brother or a sister is sin. You first need to go to them in private and confront them about the situation, if they repent you are to forgive them, and the matter is to be dropped. If he does not repent you are to take two or three faithful men with you, I would encourage that this be leaders, ie elders, deacons, head pastor, in this meeting. Once again if the brother repents he is to be restored to fellowship. However if he does not repent there is a third and final step that needs taken, and that is the sin needs brought to the attention of the entire congregation. Once again the scripture teaches us that if he repents we are to forgive him and restore him to fellowship. However if he does not repent he is to be treated like a non-believer. I hope this helps, and you and the church group you fellowship with are in my prayers.
