Subject: Church is kidnapped to Sodom! |
Bible Note: Dear JF You are missing the point. It is not a question of forgiveness but of leadership. Luke 12:48... "For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more". No one is saying that a fallen leader who repents should be cast out of the church. But it does seem appropriate and scriptural to remove him from his leadership position. Does that mean he can never hold a leadership role again? That would be up to the church he belongs to. The hardship his family may experience is regretable and perhaps they may need assistance from the deacon's fund etc., but that is a direct consequence of the man's sin. They will also have other difficulties but our sin does have consequences. Nevertheless, if he is a true child of God even these trials and tribulations God will use to sanctify the brother (Romans 8:28). John |
