Bible Question: Two years ago, a brother and a sister in our church had sexual relationship. Both are single. Later the girl was suffered from venereal disease. Two week ago, we discovered a married pastor has sexual relationship with a single sister in the church for one year. The pastor keeps leading praise and worship in many revival meeting. Does the bible have any advise when the church is in such situation? Actually, these thing disappoint me a lot. I have been long for a pure and perfect church for many years. But I think it is impossible now. The church is full of conflict, full of gossip, full of sin. |
Bible Answer: These things that you describe are only signs that were are truely in the last days. 2 Tim. 3:1-7 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. [2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, [3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, [4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; [5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. [6] For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, [7] Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. God is still a Holy God... and tells His followers to be holy... this is the way we are separated from the tares among us. Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Hosea 14:9 Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein. Remember the true church is not a brick and mortar building but the saints of the Living God. |
