Subject: God allowing things in our lives |
Bible Note: Dear PDAL, You asked, "Are you saying that God will or does use cancer to conform us to the image of his son." (sic) No, I am saying that God employs ALL things in order to accomplish His eternal purpose (Isaiah 14:24-27; 46:11b; 2 Timothy 1:9), of which the conforming of the elect to the image of His son is a part (Ephesians 1:4; Romans 8:28-29; 9:11; Hebrews 2:11-15). You asked, "Why would God put something like cancer, which we've been redeemed from back on us." (sic) Redemption addresses the issue of sin for fallen men (Ephesians 2:5). Restoration will address the issues of other things for a fallen world (Revelation 21:1-4). If the gospel were about physical healing it would be a dismal failure, since ultimately every one of us dies of disease! In Him, Doc |
