NASB | 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God's will, both publicly and privately--behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; |
Bible Question (short): Does "breathed" alwayshave same meaning? |
Question (full): I heard in Church once that the same word "breathed" is used in several places in the BIble, and is the SAME word - That God breathed the breath of life into man.. - That Jesus breathed on them (the discpiles) - That all scripture is God breathed So, if true, this means that the Bible's text is straight from God in it's essence and literal meaning, for all practical purposes ?(I am trying to chat with an unsaved man via the WEB and I want to be accurate regarding "breathed") |
