Subject: Why should we pray to Mary? |
Bible Note: No no no no no. The appearance of Our Lady of Guadalupe is a myth. The influence of Catholicism in the New World was largely at gunpoint, although the humanitarian missions did have a great influence as well. The appearance of the Virgin of Guadalupe is not a true work of God, because the Mariology of Roman Catholicism is not of God. You also wrote: "God has chosen Mary to lead us to Jesus." My Bible says: "For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" --1 Timothy 2:5 Mary is not a mediator between us and Christ. Christ is the ONLY mediator between us and God, and we do not need to have her "ask Him for us." That is completely and totally unsubstantiated by Scripture. Absolutely nowhere do we see any of the apostles praying to anyone but God in the name of Jesus Christ. It is abject heresy to say that human being convince God the Son what to do. Intercessory prayer is we Praying to God on behalf of another human being. See? This is the problem when tradition takes precedence over Scripture. --Joe! |
