Subject: Why should we pray to Mary? |
Bible Note: Lisa: I am more than happy to agree with you that Mary is blessed and an excellent female role model. However, you have been saying much more than that in your posts. Here you say that being the mother of Jesus earthly nature is the same as being the Mother of God, which is not what the text says. You say that Luke 1:49 somehow means that she should be venerated, when that is not what the text says or implies. She is a good model of faith and obedience, though, just like many others in the Bible. I would be happy to discuss Revelation 12 with you. Looking at the entire chapter, explain how the prophetic woman symbolized is depicting a single human being, namely Mary. Please describe how the rest of chapter 12 applies to her. You shouldn't be heartbroken at honest, open discussion. If I make false statements, please correct them (In fact, you did exactly that, thinking that my statement about Latin American history was false). What you have consistently failed to do, however, in this Study Bible Forum, is to respond to the passages I have cited from the New Testament which seemingly support my views about Mary. If I have misinterpreted those verses, please show me what the correct meaning of those verses is. --Joe! |
