Subject: Why do we not keep the 7th day Sabbath |
Bible Note: Dear TerryM, If I get the gist of your note correctly, are you saying that any day of the week is fine, as long as we have one day off? Just having the 'day off' was not the purpose of the Sabbath, nor is it worthy of the day of the Lord we presently enjoy. Serving God is the purpose. Now, if you and all your fellowship have Thursday off from work every week forever, you might have a case, but even then you would be limiting your congregation to being 'the Church of Thursday.' This would definitely not be mainline, in fact, it might be considered offline. It makes a lot of sense to adjust your faith life to serve God on Sunday, when a great deal of the rest of the planet takes a day off :-) Blessings in Jesus' name, charis |
