Bible Question (short): This is true... |
Question (full): This is true...we were talking about the motives of a Christian. Maybe I'm using the word wrong here...help me out. Before we are created, God has a specific plan/purpose for us to fulfill. Some people are predestined to do certain things. Before He can use us to further this plan, we have to be in a "place" in our spiritual lives. To get us to that "place" God will frustrate our plans until we end up right where He wants us. Everything will fail until there is nothing or no one else but God. When we are at this "place", and we allow ourselves to be put on the potter's wheel, then God can mold and shape us into the vessel He chooses. Now...I do believe we have some responsibility in this...we must take a step and make that decision to be molded. But I also believe that if God predetermined that he would use me for a specific plan, then He NEEDS me to get to that "place" so He can use me for that purpose. I didn't say GOD needs to work in our hearts, I said He needs us to do certain things so that He can use us. And the way that we can become that vessel is through teaching, studying and worship, which leads to an intimate relationship with God. Am I making sense? |
