Bible Note: Greetings Grace and Truth! My friend, where do you get the authority to prohibit that which is not prohibited in Scripture? I'm not asking this to sound rude, but simply to make a point. Your position seems to be that if something is not expressly commanded, then it is forbidden. This goes beyond Scripture to mere opinion. If you don't want to use musical instruments in your worship, you have every right to refrain. However, most of us use musical instruments to glorify God - and that is our right because it is not prohibited even once in all of Scripture. The examples you brought up with Steve were different Greek words than are found in Eph. 5:19. The word 'hymn' in Eph. 5:19 refers to a song accompained by a stringed instrument.
