AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 4:14 So that we are no longer children [spiritually immature], tossed back and forth [like ships on a stormy sea] and carried about by every wind of [shifting] doctrine, by the cunning and trickery of [unscrupulous] men, by the deceitful scheming of people ready to do anything [for personal profit]. |
Subject: Slain or knocked down |
Bible Note: Hi Bradk It is ironic that you used: "As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;" That is one of the themes that came out in this man's sermon. I did not question my relative on the incident. Although I am to understand that I was supposedly slained in Spirit. I wanted to jump up with indignation and scream to this Pastor, "Hey why did you push me down!" I was not slained in anything, I was knocked down on my taukus. And though that particular congregation considered it a charismatic move of the Spirit. I was pretty embarassed and had to be covered by a woman with a drape, my dress flew up. Can I ask you how common is this practice? (if you might know) And thank you for the response, I am still a bit weirded out by it. Trust, I will check references that you have provided. God Bless you, -Kathy |
