AMPLIFIED 2015 | Galatians 6:10 So then, while we [as individual believers] have the opportunity, let us do good to all people [not only being helpful, but also doing that which promotes their spiritual well-being], and especially [be a blessing] to those of the household of faith (born-again believers). |
Subject: Church requirements for helping others? |
Bible Note: Searcher - I am sorry that my comments provoked you. From my perspective, the controversy arises from the exclusion of this woman in particular, while the Pastor and his clan are taking advantage of what has been provided by the community. Indeed, we don't have all the details, she may not "fit" a legalistic definition of a "widow" - BUT according to Gal 6:10 we are still to do good to ALL and I think she fits there. Instead of denying her any assistance, perhaps the church might help her by alerting her children to her needs. I'm sorry I was judgmental. A widow is one without a husband (Jesus is the Bridegroom) An orphan is a child without a Father (God is OURS!) mommapbs |
