Bible Question: What was the purpose of the law? |
Bible Answer: Hello, AW... The Scripture reveals three distinct purposes of the law: 1. It serves as a mirror reflecting the character of God, and showing our own inadequacies. It causes us to seek His grace. (Romans 7:22-24) 2. It serves to help procure justice, until the Judgment. (Proverbs 6:23; Romans 2:18) 3. It reveals what is pleasing to God. (John 14:21; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-2) See post #150015 for a better discussion of the threefold uses of the law. In Him, Doc |
