Bible Note: Steve aka Indiana Jones, You said "I have no choice to but conclude that Paul was addressing idiosyncratic situations in difficult churches" ... but then want to apply Galatians 3:26ff to us today. Churches today have the same problems. You are are in grave danger if you pick and choose which Scripture applies to everyone. I was using marriage as an illustration ... I showed that we each have our roles. While we are equal before Him, our roles are different. Also, in your reply, you didn't cover the slave - master relationship. Pastor is poimen a noun masculine in the Greek (Eph 4:11). Elders is presbuteros an adjective in the Greek (Tit 1:5) ... but notice verse 6 says, the husband of one wife ... therefore must be a man. You are wanting if you choose not to accept ALL of Scripture for application today (2 Tim 3:16). Searcher ... if you notice my name is the author of the previous post. |
