Subject: No speaking in tongues, no Holy Spirit? |
Bible Note: Bless you, Nolan and EdB! I have not used all the gifts, I don't feel a pull to use them, although I speak in tongues for myself and have the gift of exhortation. I just want to be open to whatever and wherever the Lord wants to use me. I think this is one subject that will never be agreed upon by all believers. One of my favorite teachers (I listen on the radio) is Chuck Swindoll. I may not agree with everything he says but I learn so much from him. He said on one program that his brother-in-law is Charismatic and that they do not agree, but love each other and respect each other. I think that just may have to be the situation. In 1 Cor. Paul speaks on how all members of the body are important to the function of the body. I don't believe he was just talking about the gifts of the Spirit, but about all the people in the church, and on a broader scale (and I may be stretching it here) the different denominations of the Christian Church. We all can work together, share together, and draw people to the Lord showing them the way to salvation and how to live in obedience to our Maker. Peace- Debbie |
