Subject: Saved by faith? |
Bible Note: Thanks for the scripture Hank, but it doesn't say we are saved by faith. We are in Romans 5:1,2 JUSTIFIED by faith and have access to God because we believe, but it doesn't say we are saved Justified is from the greek word dikaioo which means 1) to render righteous or such he ought to be 2) to show, exhibit, evince, one to be righteous, such as he is and wishes himself to be considered 3) to declare, pronounce, one to be just, righteous, or such as he ought to be Webster says this Justify-to judge, regard, or treat as righteous and worthy of salvation. So by having faith we are in essence WORTHY of salvation, but not saved. And as far as the other scriptures, that does not prove that you are saved by faith. Because Jesus also said that Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. I believe that you can't be saved by someone you don't believe in, but we are not saved by faith alone...READ James 2:19 The devils believe. Are they saved? Without faith it is impossible to please him Hebrews 11:6, I am asking for scripture backing up the FAITH ALONE statement. There isn't one. While yes you have to have faith to be saved that is not the ONLY thing we are saved by. Furthermore, I haven't completed my study on this, but I believe faith and BELIEF are DIFFERENT. Everyone here BELIEVES God heals, but it seems to me that NO ONE on this forum has FAITH that HEALING IS GUARENTEED. |
