Bible Question: i met a lady who said that the sabbath is on a saturday and that the catholic church had changed the law so tell is this if not could you give me some verse yo back it up |
Bible Answer: The Sabbath is not kept. It is The Lord's Day which is Sunday that is kept. As first Jews than Christians the early Jerusalem Church observed both. Friday sundown til Saturday sundown was the Sabbath and to the Christian jew was a matter of cultural identification. It was the Lord's Day which is Saturday sundown(thus some Catholics observe mass at Saturday 5:30pm instead of Sunday) til Sunday sundown. Nothing was changed or altered. Esssentially it was ,when in Jerusalem do as the Jews do, however the Jewish sabbath was not held out as a part of the faith to Gentile Christians. hope it helps, KenLey |
