Subject: Iam having some questions |
Bible Note: Kcabml4, This is what is part of our sanctification. Though we are indeed saved, we are still not perfect, and sometimes if we are honest with ourselves we can see that we do fail to be as Christlike as we are able, simply because He is the only one who is perfect. For instance; Do we always love our neighbor as ourselves? Or do we love God with all our heart and mind and soul and strength? I know though I try, I don't always do it as well as I should, and certainly not ever as well as Jesus did. Jesus said we should even love our enemy; And I know we don't do that very well do we? So when we sin, we need to acknowledge it to God, and He is faithful to cleans us of all unrighteousness. 1 John speaks to this truth in verses 8-10 "If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us." It is very important to see that John is not speaking to the unsaved, but he is speaking to born again believers. I hope this helps. John |
