Bible Note: Mark, where does Scripture teach that salvation is conditional? Where does it say that the condition rests with us? Does the Bible define 'condition' and 'conditional' and if so, how does it define these terms? What do the terms mean to you? Ephesians 2:8 calls salvation the gift of God. From this passage what implication of any condition do you see that "rests with us"? If by "condition" you mean faith alone in Jesus Christ alone, this is wholly scriptural. But if "condition" by your definition encompasses anything more than that, Scripture does not support it. One final question. In saying "IF anyone hears His voice and opens the door," who are they who hear His voice and how are they enabled to hear it? --Hank |
