Bible Note: Hi Mark, Thanks for your response:-) I would add and say that God saves those who come to Him by faith- place their trust in His Son, Jesus Christ. The "obedience" in the context of salvation- as I understand it- is the obedience of faith ,like Abraham in the great chapter on faith in Hebrews: "By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going." (Heb. 11:8) Also, Romans 1:5 tells us "...through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for His name’s sake,: (cf 16:26) Certainly, how we "work out our salvation" is because "...we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them."
