Bible Note: Country Girl: How do you KNOW (a) whether Ananias and Sapphira were regenerate, and (b) what their eternal destiny was? ...... The doctrine of the eternal security of the believer does not hang on subjective conclusions derived at by personal observation, experiential hunches, or assumptions arrived at by an inconclusive set of data such as one finds in Acts 5:1-11. Were it to be considered valid all of a sudden to build whole doctrinal systems from snippets of Scripture, one might expect to see a dramatic rise in the construction industry. All God's children would be out building arks. --Hank |
