Subject: Please explain the Trinity. |
Bible Note: This is a TOUGH subject. The Bible never uses the word and only speaks indirectly towards it. Churches have debated this for ages. My wife and I don't even agree on it. But here is the best explanation I have come up with on my belief. Think of God the father, Son and Holy Spirit as three 7s: 7 7 7 Each of these 7s are identical, you cannot tell them apart. They have the same characteristics - they are all 7s. But you can tell by looking at them, that they are indeed three separate 7s. They are indeed the same, yet they are each distinct. So are the Father, Son and Holy spirit. They are all God, yet they are separate. Again, this is my view. My wife and my church believe differently (They'd say there was only one "7" and it just appeared in different forms) but this is WAY confusing to me and ends up portraying a schitzo Jesus. But that is MY opinion. Why is it so important? To me, it really isn't except that you believe Jesus is God and not just a man, or even a perfect man. Either view of the trinity I listed still believes that they are all God. Yeah, that's as clear as mud... |
