Bible Note: Ethan: I have been involved in countercult evangelism for a decade now, and I can assure you that you are mistaken, as was anyone in an LDS chatroom making such an assertion. They use the name Jesus without reservation. And as someone whose occupation involves linguistics, I can tell you that English is not the richest language on earth today. Nor is it more complex and descriptive than NT Greek. Hebrew may be simpler, but Greek is a much richer language in its verb tenses and moods, as well as in its use of forms which reflect gender and number, which help to cleaer up a lot of the translation problems that would otherwise occur. --Joe! |
