Bible Note: I am not saying that one should or should not follow the teaching and instruction of G*d(Torah)to obtain or add to their salvation. Believe on the Lord Jesus the Messiah and you shall be saved period. What I and talking about is not legalism either. What I am talking about is the many blessings to be had by observing G*ds instructions for living our lives. Jesus observed Torah(he was the author) he observed the Biblical Feast and dietary laws. He came not only to be the lamb of G*d that takes away the sin of the World(he fullfilled the role of the Passover Lamb, being without spot or blemish)to take away the sins of the world. He came to show us how to live lives that were pleasing to G*d. The Torah was given long before Moses, G*d himself started animal sacrifice in the garden,Genesis 3:21 The Lord G*d made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. He shed the blood of animals to cover the sin of Adam and Eve. G*d must have instructed Cain and Able as to what was a proper offering that being an animal and not grain. If Torah was not around before Moses how could the Lord warn Cain that sin was crouching at his door? Thou shall not Murder. The Lord tried to give his Torah to his people directly in Exodus 20:18-19 they asked Moses to speak to them and not the Lord. I can't think of any of the Lords commandments that I don't want to follow, can you? maybe the one about stealing? or that one about murder? perhaps the one about adultery? Jesus made it very clear that can keep G*ds commands in Matthew 5:48 "Be perfect , therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect". It's not a matter of having to keep or follow the commands of the Lord it's a matter of loving him so much that you want to. The Lord says in John 14:15 "If you love me, you will obey what I command. |
