Bible Note: Hi Graceful, While you await the answer from brookelynne1982 would you care to comment on #91673 in his other thread concerning this topic? Let's look at the things that the Pharisee said. Matthew 12:24, "This *Man casts out demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons." Luke 11:15, "But some of them said, "He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons." Mark 3:22, "And the scribes who came down from Jerusalmen were saying, "He is possessed by Beelzebul," and, "He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons." His own people and kinsmen were worried about Him. Mark 3:21, "for they were saying, "He has lost His senses." Mark 3:30, "because they were saying, "He has an unclean spirit." I want you to consider that the multitudes, scribes, Pharisees, and kinsmen were not rejecting the Holy Spirit. In remembering Acts 19:2 I wonder if they had "even heard whether there is a Holy Spirit." Rather, they were rejecting the spirit [sic] that they perceived was in Him. We can even consider Luke 9:55 in this discussion. Luke 9:55, "But he turned and rebuked them,[and said, "You do not know what kind of spirit you are of; for the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them.] And they went on to another village." I believe that Jesus cast out demons by the spirit of God. That is, by the finger of God. Psalm 8:3,4a, "When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, The moon and the stars, which Thou has ordained; What is man, that Thou dost take thought of him? From the heart, Ray |
