Bible Question: well that's the scripture i quoted in my original question. i simply want to know WHY it's forgivable to blaspheme against god and the son but NOT the holy spirit, and i'm not trying to be difficult, i promise, i just really want to know, and i've asked several people in my church and none of them have given me a satisfactory answer, so if anyone can help me out on this i'd be very grateful. |
Bible Answer: brookelynn, You must read this verse in it's context to understand it. Who was Jesus speaking to? What had the Pharasees said just prior to Jesus giving this response? The Pharasees had called the Holy Spirit Beelzebub or Satan....They could not recognize the Spirit of God and it is the Spirit of God or the Holy Spirit that brings conviction by revealing sin and draws us to repent. If we reject Him, we reject salvation through Christ Jesus...eternally lost. Does that help? God bless |
