Subject: Knowing the Word |
Bible Note: Doc Those five points can definitely effect someone's rendering/understanding of the word. However those 5 points can also be equal in two different faithful, righteous scholars and they will still come to different conclusions. In there lies the problem of why we presently have 3000 Protestant denominations each claiming they have the most correct view of scripture. Incidentally the 3000 is said to be as high as 30,000 when all the various independent churches are factored in. Sola Scriptura is not a precept found in scripture. Sola Scriptura is an invention of man. Had the concept existed before each book of the Bible was written they and each succeeding book would not have been written. Lastly man often attempts to supply answers to things God never revealed, framed in man's logic, man's knowledge and man's wisdom which clearly isn't God's. Where God is silent man also should remain silent. That is not to say man being lead of the Holy Spirit should ignore the leading only that he shouldn't try to impose this leading onto the rest of the world. I totally agree we MUST let God be true and every man a liar. The problem begins when one man, one theology is seen to be the right theology even though it was formulated exactly as all the rest through man's understanding. |
