Bible Question: Can Unbelievers pray to god(Not the prayer of Salvation) and have their prayers answered? |
Bible Answer: Hi, ds8334, I agree with the post that james210 wrote. Isaiah 59:1-2 says "Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear." It is sin that separates man from God. So who are they talking to when they "pray" a prayer that is not asking for Salvation? Well, look at it this way: wouldn't Satan love it if we thought we could pray, get what we ask for, and not get saved? It's a trick of the enemy and the fault of the unbeliever! Many times it seems that the unsaved has more than us, but God tells us in Psalm 37:16: "A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked." 1 Peter 3:12: "For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil." John 9:31: "Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth." The answer is that unbelievers can pray to God, but He will only hear them when they are asking for forgiveness. Otherwise, some of the unbelievers' so-called answered prayers are actually those of the believers who are praying for them. WalkingTalkingBible |
