Subject: Is it always a sin to lie? |
Bible Note: Hi Makarios, Here are some more facts for you to consider: How many times do you see the wrong acts of individuals recorded in scripture, without the record of a corresponding punishment. Look at Sampson. He spends the night with a Philistine prostitute, and what happens? He uses the strength that the Lord gave him to avoid even the worldly consequences of his actions, to say nothing of any punishment from the Lord. Does this mean that its ok for us to spend nights with Philistine prostitutes? Of course not! But somehow that logic, which would be rejected in any other circumstance, applies to this passage in Exodus about lying? Am I stubborn, or am I tenacious? ;-) I am sorry I disappoint you, Makarios, but I will be sorrier if I fail to correctly teach God's word. Love in Christ, Mark |
