Bible Note: One of the early church fathers, who's name is Irenaeus, who was a disciple of Polycarp who was a disciple of the apostle John, wrote this statement around 180 AD. "We will not, however, incur the risk of pronouncing positively as to the name of the Antichrist; for if it was nessary that is name should be distinctly revealed in this present time, it would have been announced by him who beheld the apocalyptic vision. For thaqt was seen not very long time since, but almost in our day, towards the end os Domitians reign." |
