Subject: If we ask for healing does God answer no |
Bible Note: Ok, let me give you the Scriptues where you can find in your own Bible the story of John the Baptist , and how we can ask ourselves, why was he doubting God. I won't post it all here, to keep from taking up space but you can find the story in : Matthew 3:14-17 Here John recognizes whom Jesus is, so much that he thinks he should be baptized by Him, also note the voice form heaven. Mark 1:9-11 NOte again, the voice from heaven confirming who Christ is, and the Spirit like a dove. Luke 3:21-22 Here again, the Holy Ghost comes down, and the voice from heaven is heard. John 1:29-33 Here John is even calling out saying this is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. IN other words, what I'm saying, is that John knew who he was in the presence of didn't he? So then let me ask you about this scripture. Matthew 11:2-6 We find here, that John has been put into prision, and it says he hears of the things Jesus is doing, so he sends his followers to go and ask if 'Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another' (verse 3). So, why is it John would have to ask if that is the Christ, if he already made a statement knowing that it was? Could it be because he is locked up in prison, and getting just a bit offended towards God that he is in there? Look at Jesus' last response to this question. "And blessed is he , whosever shall not be offended in me" Jesus is adressing the fact that John is doubting who Jesus is, because he is offended at Him, over the fact that he has been locked up in prison. Did John die and go to heaven? I'm sure he did, but Scripture does make it clear to us, that He knew who Christ was, then began to question it, in other words, he began to doubt what the Word of God had said. Hope this cleared things up a bit! Mitch |
