Subject: Can I trust this Pastor? |
Bible Note: Jensen Yes you are correct almost any verse in the bible can be refuted with another, when taken out of context. Your also right some men in the pulpit have been preaching their own gospel by doing exactly this, taking scripture out of context. However there are honest and trustworthy men in many of the this world’s pulpits. Men that have an honest desire to do nothing more than to preach the Good News. Do they have all the answers? No. Will they be wrong at times? Yes. Do they have human failings? Yes. Can you trust them? Yes, even with your life! Does that relieve you of responsibility for your spiritual well being? No, we are to still study to show ourselves approved. I say all of this to get to this point. You will never find a perfect pastor, but if you are willing you can find a man you can receive from. Trust will then have to be established and built. However of this I am certain if you stop looking, you will never find a man to pastor you. And that my beloved friend is a very dangerous place to find yourself. Keep looking, not all pastors are out to prove something, impress someone, or even to dazzle you with many words. Many are honest men with an honest love, seeking to help, instruct and encourage the flock God gave them to shepherd. God Bless you and I pray your search will continue Ed |
