Subject: Can we agree? |
Bible Note: Greetings Kelkat! Thanks for the response! The example you provided is an excellent one. I pray that God will continue to allow them to minister to these young ones. I don't doubt for a second that God will meet our needs. The only thing I doubt is the "name it and claim it" theology. There undoubtedly are some whom God will richly bless for His sovereign purposes. They will be wealthy and healthy. However, at other times, God will work through illness and need to glorify His name. For instance, Joni Erickson is such a person. There is no doubt that God could heal her. But, He has chosen to work through her injuries to bring hope and faith to many people. She is able to minister to people that you or I could never reach, because of her health problems. Where the "name it and claim it" theology goes wrong is that it turns God into a giant geni. If we simply rub Him three times, we get our wish. But, Scripture doesn't back this claim up.
