Subject: Hebrews 6:6 explained |
Bible Note: Greetings Steve! I too miss Sir Pent! It's good to know that you are checking up on me! It keeps me honest! :-) Concerning the relationship between the parable of the four soils and Heb. 6:4-6, I personally think that they are dealing with seperate issues. The four soils seems to be dealing with four different responses to the Gospel - with the last being the only one which produces abiding fruit. Heb. 6:4-6 seems to be dealing with Christians who had experienced life, but were knowing actively rejecting the source of life. This is what I was referring to when I mentioned the last two participles in Heb. 6:6. I believe that it is only impossible to renew these individuals to repentance while they are actively rejecting Christ. If their attitudes change, then repentance would be possible. Well, I've got to get to bed! Have a great day! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
