Bible Question: josiebible, where does ... the Bible does say "this gift is for all who ask and believe." |
Bible Answer: Hi Searcher56; That is a good and fair questain and I am trying to remember where I got that from. I am new at this Bible study and not real good at saying what I truely need and intend to say. Here are a few verses that may help to explain where I am coming from. Luke 11:9-13 says: And I say unto you, ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children; HOW MUCH MORE SHALL YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER GIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT TO THEM THAT ASK HIM? In the Bible, when believers received the Holy Spirit, they began to speak in a heavenly language, Acts 2:4 says,"And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." When you accept the Spirit's indwelling, your spirit will immediately have a desire to express itself in praise to God. The Holy Spirit will give utterance through you as you give Him permission.Does this satisfy your questain? If not I will do some more research. God Bless and thanks for responding to my remarks. This is how I learn to. Joann |
