Bible Note: Greetings Lionstrong! You are right, all of Scripture is inspired, but that doesn't necessarily mean that every verse is a promise directed at us. To use a wild example, God said to Sara, "You will have a son". This doesn't mean that God promised everyone of us that we would have a son. However, we can all learn much from God's actions and Sara's response to God in that circumstance. So, I would agree with Steve to a point. However, I think you are right that the principle is relevant. While not a direct promise to us, God does show mercy to those who repent. Any nation that seeks Him will be blessed. But, I would not say that 2 Chr. 7:14 is a direct promise to us. My mine point was that you two seem to be a lot closer to me than either one will admit! :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
