81 | A saint that won't forgive | Matt 5:23 | gracefull | 65000
The only one that comes to mind in a hurry is James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Also Matthew 5:23-25 (paraphrased) If you bring you gift to the alter and remember your brother has ought against you, leave the gift and go be reconciled to thy brother. Otherwise the adersary could have an avenue to harrass. It is very hard to do this sometimes but pride is the obstacle. and odviously pride cannot be tolerated if growth is to continue. |

82 | Special situations for remarriage? | Matt 5:31 | gracefull | 87123
This is the only scripture I found on this question, but it addresses the case of the first wife having remarried. "Is it wrong to get a divorce for the sole purpose of seeking to re-marry your first wife?" Has she also remarried? Jeremiah 3:1 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD. SOLE PURPOSE....Scripture does not justify divorce for the purpose of remarriage. Do a Search of 'divorce' or 'remarriage'. There has much been said on the subject..The answer will be found as you humble yourself before God willing to follow His direction. You might also study repentance, and God's position of vows. 83 | A FALSE TEACHING? Yes / No | Matt 8:5 | gracefull | 93325
Hello RJJ, "A question for the false teachers of the," health and wealth doctrine", where in the scriptures is it written that you have to have a great amount of faith to receive or to believe in the healing power of GOD? (for reference see #90497)" It isn't written that you have to have great faith...but it is written that faith is necessary for healing. And it is als written that faith grows through in spiritual entrance of God's Word. Only the Holy Spirit can teach our spirit Truth. Romans 10:16-1816 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world. Faith can grow... Matthew 6:30, Matthew 8:26, Matthew 14:31 to name a few scripturese where Jesus admonished them for little faith. Then in Matthew 8:9-11 He praises great faith and in other verses as well. Faith grows with the Word and the mentoring of the Holy Spirit. Faith is NOT mental assent to what scripture says..Faith BELIEVES what scripture says and acts accordingly. Now whether that faith is believing Jesus died and was raised for our sins and that if we repent and receive Him we will be saved, one RECEIVES the new birth...likewise all of the other promises... The truth you are attacking you yourself have experienced if you are born again... the difference in you and those you are attacking is not the TRUTH of the necessity of faith to receive God's promises, but rather what those promises are... 84 | Fasting explanation | Matt 9:17 | gracefull | 84162
"Hows this context related to fasting.." It is my understanding that Jesus is speaking of the Old and New Covenant. "and the the same with wineskins?" When wine was stored to ferment in wineskins, they swelled, thus weakening the skins and making them useless for new wine. The weakened skins would break under the pressure of the new wine fermenting. Here again Christ is refering to the passing away of the Old Covenant and the New Covenant to come. See Hebrews 8 and Jeremiah 31 God bless |

85 | Man's ememies are in his household | Matt 10:36 | gracefull | 81054
Ephesians 6:17 And take (39) THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the (40) sword of the Spirit, which is (41) the word of God. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." 86 | blasphemy against the holy spirit.... | Matt 12:24 | gracefull | 91597
The key begins in verse 24. Matthew 12:24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is not recognizing Him as the Spirit of God, rejecting Him who is the one who draws us to Christ. If we reject the Holy Spirit calling Him evil as the Pharasees did, we can't come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. God bless |

87 | i'm still not getting this | Matt 12:31 | gracefull | 93067
brookelynn, You must read this verse in it's context to understand it. Who was Jesus speaking to? What had the Pharasees said just prior to Jesus giving this response? The Pharasees had called the Holy Spirit Beelzebub or Satan....They could not recognize the Spirit of God and it is the Spirit of God or the Holy Spirit that brings conviction by revealing sin and draws us to repent. If we reject Him, we reject salvation through Christ Jesus...eternally lost. Does that help? God bless |

89 | What is the sign of the prophet Jonah? | Matt 12:39 | gracefull | 75567
Hi Malspa The resurrection took place after Jesus was 3 days in the heart of the earth as Jonah was 3 days in the whale. Jesus was dead 3 days then raised from the dead by God confirming Him as the righteous saviour and confirming Him as God. Also see Ephesians 4:8-10 Does that help? God bless |

90 | T or F? "God is a gentleman." | Matt 13:1 | gracefull | 83384
Not necessarily disagreeing with your point, but would like make one small point to consider... Paul was not an enemy of God, and he believed Jesus was a blasphemous heretic as did many of the other Pharasees. Your statement assumes the condition of Paul's heart was anti-God but God interrupted his life anyway. I rather submit that Paul truly loved God which was the difference between him and the other Pharasees. Acts 26:19-20 Paul was not disobedient to the heavenly vision. ?If heavenly visions would convert everyone as it did Paul, would God who is not willing that any should perrish, not give everyone such a vision? No..only those who have a heart for God. Matthew 13:14-17 Now Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel chapter 3 and 4 states that God sent him a dream and an interpreter (Daniel) 4:27 Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be aceptable unt thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquility...after twelve months he said"Is not this great Babylon that I ahve built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?" vs 31 While the word was in the king's mouth.. In Paul's case this was not an unwelcome interruption, but one that fulfiled the desire of His heart of serve God. In the king's example, he was forwarned and did not take heed.... god bless |

91 | Simon wanting to buy Holy Spirit Acts 8 | Matt 13:20 | gracefull | 73240
Personal testimony.... My husband and I were discussing this very subject this weekend. He attended a ____ chuch when he was in his teens. The pastor preached the words of slavation and my husband 'decided' he should be 'saved'. He went forward and spoke the words directed. Now that he is truly born again he can look back and say it was a mental decision and not a spiritual rebirth. Sadly many have done done this, and I believe often it is pressure from believing friends or family rather than the Holy Spirit drawing. The difference is religion verses true salvation. |

92 | Explain Jeremiah 35, especially verse 17 | Matt 15:1 | gracefull | 81923
I belive you are asking if the refusal to drink wine by the Rechabites could be an 'example of men so set in their ways, that they even refused a command from God?' In context, I would say no...God sent Jeremiah to the call the Rechabites to use them as an example for Israel. He KNEW they would remain faithful to THEIR father's command. This was not an attempt to 'change' the Rechabites, but rather t use them as an example of faithfuness. He uses them as an example to humiliate His people... verse12-16 paraphrased...'Look at the Rechabites, who obey the command of their earthly ancestors to THIS VERY DAY but I have spoken to you and spoken frequently and you have not obeyed me! Their ancestors are long since dead and yet they continue to obey even now. I am still with you, stil speaking to you today, and you refuse to obey me!' God is using this example of faithfulness to shame His people. In context, this would not be scripture to prove hardness of heart from the Rechabites, but rather, an example of extreme faithfulness we should demonstrate. If these obeyed their eartly father after many generations how much more should we obey our heavenly Father? For a good example of people set in their ways, look at the Pharasees facing Jesus and refusing to release their traditions. God bless God bless |

93 | Matthew 16:28 | Matt 16:28 | gracefull | 86582
There are two clues in this verse.. 1. SOME here will not taste death UNTIL... This phrase can't be speaking of spiritual death because these were believers and scripture speaks of spiritual death for unbelievers and eternal life for believers. So Jesus must be speaking of physical death of the body. 2. See the Son of Man coming into His Kingdom. The Kingdom of God has already come..(NOT THE FINAL TIME OF THE BINDING OF THE ENEMY AND THE REIGN ON EARTH BY OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR). Luke 17:20-21 20 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21nor will they say, "See here!' or "See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you." Clossians 1:13 13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of ( His beloved Son, Chapter 17 emediately goes to the mount of transfiguration. We are spirit beings BORN into the Kingdom of God by the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit. And although Jesus is speaking in verse 27 of the final judgement/reward the verses prior to this and continuing in chapter 27 are warning not to allow anything in this life to prevent us.Would we chose the world and it's deceptive riches ffor the blessings of the kingdm of God? Verse 26 Matt 16:26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life [HIS BLESSED LIFE IN THE KINGDOM]? Or what would a man give as an exchange for his [blessed] life [in the kingdom of God]? My observations... God bless |

95 | Is having a TV unbiblical? | Matt 24:14 | gracefull | 82878
No Scripture tells us that things and food(external things) do not enter the 'heart'. Having a TV or a radio is not sin...Sin can come if we allow them to influence us away from God by not carefully considering what we are hearing and watching. Consider carefully allowing the Holy Spirit to show us what we should watch. Secondly, are they taking away from our prayer time and our scripture studies? Are they becoming our 'candy' when we need 'meat'? Moderation and temperance are fruit of the Spirit. Proverbs 4: 20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. ALSO Phillipians 4:8 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. God bless |

96 | can anyone explain ? Mat 25.24 | Matt 25:24 | gracefull | 73361
At A Glance: This one percieved the master in a way the others did not, and therefore his response to the masters commission was totally different. How we perceive God will determine how we serve Him. If we recognize Him as just, faithful and prue love(as opposed to carnal) we will be diligent to serve from a heart of love. If we are operating in fear (not reverent respect but fear of punishment) our service will be unfruitful and unpleasing. Our service must be from a heart of love to be truly fruitful in the kingdom. Secondly, we must commit to be faithful in releasing and allowing the Holy Spirit to work through us producing that which we are gifted to produce. Hope this helps. |

97 | "Why have you forsaken me?" | Matt 27:46 | gracefull | 66792
Read Isaiah 53 keeping in mid that it is speaking prophetically of the Messiah. Jesus was the sinless lamb of God who upon the cross took unto himself the sins of the world. God had to look away because at this time he was no longer 'sinless'. Whether he actually went to hell is an issue discussed intensely on another thread. There can be no doubt that God had seperated Himself from Jesus at that time and the only reason He would do that was the fact that God cannot look upon sin. Also read Psalm 22 from the same perspective..The sinless God/man suddenly becoming sin for us to pay the price for us. God bless... |

100 | Empty tomb, but witnesses didn't tell? | Mark 16:8 | gracefull | 82155
"for they were held by alarm and fear." held-restrained, bound by fear At this time, they had not received the Holy Spirit for He had not yet been sent. Jesus told them that after He ascended, they were to go to Jerusalem to tarry and wait. Once the Holy Spirit filed them..they went forth BOLDLY proclaiming the gospel. Luke 24:46-49 Acts 1:6-11 2 Timothy 1:8 God has not given us the Spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind. When the Holy Spirit fills us, boldness and Godly love are present to witness. This bldness will stand in a croud and proclaim Jesus is Lord without any fear of negative consequences. Before He came, they were fearful of the consequences and confused about what had happened. They were 'midstream' between two worlds and unsure which shore to swim to. In Luke it says He 'opened their minds' and then told them to tarry so the openning of their minds...spiritual enlightenment or revealed knowledge came...but they were still told to tarry because the needed more than the spiritual understanding to go forth and and be witnesses. Once the Holy Spirit was received, Mark 16:15-20 began. God bless |
