141 | how Christ sees us? | Rom 3:20 | gracefull | 81501
20Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin. 21But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement,[9] through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished-- 26he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. 142 | Unpunished Sins? | Rom 3:25 | gracefull | 83677
In simple form... Hebrews 10:4 "because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins." Luke 16 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:" Until Christ, there was no true redeption available to man..only the faithful 'looking forward' Hebrews 11:13 13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Does this help? God bless |

143 | still unpunished? | Rom 3:25 | gracefull | 84153
Good morning lovesomuch, I was away for a few days. Have you found your answer? Except through the blood of Jesus can anyone be saved. We are saved through His righteousness. Those who died in faith were given the opportunity to accept Jesus. God is just. All sins of followers of the Lord Jesus Christ are forgiven because Jesus paid the price, suffered our penalty. But the sins of the lost will not go unpunished. Thus we need to pray for a heart for the lost! Let me know if you have 'lingering' questions. Sometimes it takes several posts to get to he HEART of a matter. God bless. |

144 | Rom 4:20 | Rom 4:18 | gracefull | 85926
Romans 4:18-19 18 In hope against hope he believed, so that he might become a father of many nations according to that which had been spoken, "SO SHALL YOUR DESCENDANTS BE." 19 Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah's womb; Verse 18..God spoke the promise... Verse 19 Abraham believed God when in the natural there was no hope. Strong faith is faith that has been been developed (like a muscle) through faithful practice of acting on God's word while waiting patiently for the manifestation. James 1:2-4 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. Romans 5:2-4 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: Abraham's faith was developed through a series of directions from God, beginning with His command for Abraham to leave his country because God had another country for him..both the promised land Cannan and the promised land, Jesus. Hebrews 11:8-10 8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. 145 | Born agean not tought. | Rom 6:2 | gracefull | 93321
Hello godman, You seem to be addressing the issue of being overcomers through Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit..transformed into the image and likeness of our saviour Jesus Christ. Romans 6:1-3 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 1. Some do not understand it... 2. Some do not believe it.. 3. Some want to remain 'in control'.. I can't think of any other reason... God bless |

147 | What does Denial and True Discipliship? | Rom 8:18 | gracefull | 89228
PS BUT......PAUL ALSO SAID AND I CONCUR.. 16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. 18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 1 Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with JOY UNSPEAKABLE and full of glory: 9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. 148 | Is God's will prosperity/healing always? | Rom 8:28 | gracefull | 67546
A good place to start a study on this would be tostudy the gospels, Matthew-John. Look up in your concordance every scripture on 'heal, healing, infirmity, sickness, disease'. If you can find even ONE where Jesus told someone who came to him for healing that it was God's will for them to remain sick for awhile, or God wanted to use their sufferings to compel someone to salvation, or that the devil had authority to make them sick and there was nothing he could do. I would like to hear what you find. Jesus said I came to do the will of my Father. He said that if we have seen him, we have seen the Father. So Jesus was the physical manifestation of the will of God. The scripture arguments that poverty and sickness are training tools of God, to me, are unconvincing. Study both sides of the argument and then go into the presence of God for the revealed truth of His word. God bless |

149 | True believer | Rom 10:9 | gracefull | 95445
Hi Chris, No. The only requirement for salvation is believing on the Lord Jesus. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. This means these are the priviledge of the believer. This should be viewed as a promise not a 'work'. God bless |

150 | Where does it tell us not to sin? | Rom 12:1 | gracefull | 91353
1 Corinthians 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 1 John 5:16-17 16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. 17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. These are the ones in the New Covenant that use the phrase sin not from the King James version. God bless |

151 | Governmental Authority? | Rom 13:1 | gracefull | 74406
Montag.. I suggest your answer is in verse one. God ordained the United States for His purpose. 'those which exist are established by God'. When you consider the USA consider the good which far outweighs the bad. This country has prospered to propigate the gospel worldwide. It is deterioriating because God and His word is being compromised. Remember one thing (from the heart and I believe I have the Spirit) the enemy is Satan and his demonic army. If you are unhappy with things here, begin to fast and pray. There is no other country in the world I would rather be. God bless |

152 | should you have extra marital affairs? | Rom 13:9 | gracefull | 89771
Hell needhelp, I would like to take a little different approach to our question, but only to take the subject of unfaithfulness a little further. You see, God is faithful and He hates covenant breakers becuae it is in direct contrast to His character. Below in Mark is an example of God's heart in the matter of unfaithfulenss and He categorizes spiritual unfaithfulness as adultery as well as the physical act. Mark 8:38 For whoever is ashamed [here and now] of Me and My words in this adulterous (unfaithful) and [preeminently] sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when He comes in the glory (splendor and majesty) of His Father with the holy angels. Do you see how God views adultery from these verses? If we are children of God indeavoring to grow up in the likeness of our Father, which we are commanded to do, then we must strive to become faithful to our words. What we SPEAK we are committed to, or in covenant with..So why do we not commit adultery? 1. Our Father hates it, and 2. It is required of a steward, one entrusted to the work of the Father, that he be found faithful..the more faithful we are to our covenants, our words, the more God can use us in His kingdom. God bless |

153 | Human judgement | Rom 14:3 | gracefull | 70227
In my opinion..not much. Hebrews 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up:for God is able to make him stand. Then of course there is the lesson of the splinter and the beam..When we look at the weakness or immaturity of our brothers and sisters in criticism, we are in escence criticizing God, because He is our teacher, our Lord, our guide. We are all at different places in our walk and we all have opportunity to criticize or be ciritcized. It is beter to show mercy and let God correct. Our 'opinions' of others are very weak because we do not know their heart, only God does. |

154 | Are we Stupid or Lazy? Our Soul at stak | Rom 14:12 | gracefull | 89358
Hi George, I tend to believe it goes deeper than either of the above, and can be traced back much further than today. 1 Samuel 8:5-7 is a perfect example. 5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations. 6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD. 7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them. Israel 'wanted to be like the other nations.' They rejected the personal relationship God had with them for a king. Secondly, men craving personal power and glory have always used this odvious flaw by in the human character to woe them to let these men of power to 'tell them what to do'. The Pharasees were the ones with the. John 11:41 48 If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation. People have always sought out leaders to communicated to God for them, to tell them how they should act...just as long as they do not have to 'enter' the presence of God themselves. And some come to realize they can,and they desire to do so and then they break free. God bless |

156 | "fear of finding truth"? | Rom 14:12 | gracefull | 89640
Ed explained well how this fits in the subject though he did not use the word fear...fear comes when we know we are in sin and the presence of the HOLY GOD is odviously near...Adam and Eve hid from 'fear'. Fear, other than the reverence for things HOLY, ie..fear of man, fear of bodily harm, fear of rejection, fear of making a mistake, can paralyze us to the point of being blind spiritually. But if one sits under the Word and reads the Word and prays, God will challenge the fearful by revealing the fear and by revealing His promise to be our strength in weakness and to be faithful always and to 'FEAR NOT'. Then it becomes 'choice', disobedience. All are not fearful of finding the truth, some who are fearful when they find the truth...RUN TO FREEDOM! God bless |

157 | Color commentary vs direction for living | 1 Corinthians | gracefull | 70944
Beensetfree: Here again folks often look at such scripture in argumentative fashion, but as you say the scripture is about prayer and headship, which if addressed at the heart would reveal rebellion, an unwilingness to acknowledge or accept authority. Women have not been properly taught that submission to God first means submission to their husband, and although the husband may not be submitted to God's authority, the wife is still under him. The sad lesson here is that when a woman decides here husband is not worthy to be in authority and takes that position or rather rebels, she places herself out of God's will and therefore out of His protective care. On the flip side if women were properly taught they would understand that by submitting to the husbands authority and committing their care to God, He could intervene in the relationship on her behalf. How a woman dresses is a matter of the heart. However, if one sees a new believer from a perverse life start to church and still wearing the clothes of the world, one of the ladies might offer to take her shopping and purchase her some new ones. She may lack both the funds and the Before the gossip starts and drives the baby from the fellowship. I have seen this happen. |

158 | The Gift of Tongues | 1 Corinthians | gracefull | 93069
Journey me, Please read through the thread #92207. I do not wish to get involved in another lengthy discussion on this topic, but since all the responses here speak only of the 'gift of tongues' and do not address the fact that speaking in tongues is available to every believer. Now the 'gift' of tongues which must be accompanied by the gift of interpretation in a congregational meeting is not the same thing. If you read through this thread you may see 1 Corinthians 12-14 a little differently. God bless |

159 | Apostles, Prophets? An Office for Today? | 1 Cor 1:1 | gracefull | 74101
Now we are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, and after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, government, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles?are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? There is no indication here that these offices have ceased. Please not that apostles, prophets and teachers are in the same verse. If apostles ceased, did the calling of teacher as well? Also notice that miracles and gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues are also included in the list.... God bless |

Actually it is Christ over all, man over household, including children. Unfortunately in our culture women are the primary disciplinarians. Women should 'enforce' but the children should know the father is the final authority. There can only be one HEAD in a household and in the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 11:3 1 Timothy 3:4 Ephesians 5:23 Mark 3:25 |
