61 | Does God really have a plan for my life | Prov 16:3 | gracefull | 74065
Obstacles are sometimes from the enemy and sometimes they are road blocks God has placed to block a path we should not walk. The key is to put your trust in Him and ask Him to show you His way.Remember He loves you perfectly. If it is the enemy God will move him, if it is God, He has something better for you! Commit your works unto the Lord and He will establish your thoughts. Proverbs 16:2-4 |

62 | What does the candle or lamp signify? | Prov 20:27 | gracefull | 70247
Romans8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. The spirit of man united with the Spirit of God reveals the deep secrets of the soul. Thus healing, and transformation begins here. We are changed from the inside out. This is why changing our actions (as under the old covenant) was insufficient as it did not change the heart.Jesus said I am the light of the world... The lamp of the spirit searches our innermost parts, our motives, and reveals them. Likewise the Spirit of God searches and reveals His nature to us when He comes to dwell in us. Otherwise we would have no understanding or true knowledge of Him and His will. Visualize a man carrying a lamp into your soul revealing the dark corners and crevices and bringing to light the dark things so they can be healed. Hidden things do not get healed until they are brought to the light. See...and consider Psalm 119:104-106 The Word is a lamp John 1:1 Jesus it the word John 8:12 Jesus is the light of the world Matthew 5:14 We are the light of the world Ephesians 1:18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, Revelation, Enlightened, Illuminated. Does this help? |

63 | What about if not paying? | Eccl 5:4 | gracefull | 83146
First you should search your heart and share with God honestly why you are not paying your vow or are late. All our external words and actions reflect the conditon of our heart. Matthew 12:34-35 From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. And God has made the way through Jesus Christ to correct the heart so that the outward actions are holy and righteous. Confession is the first step to correction. God knows our heart but we must get honest with Him before He can help. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. When we commit to keep God's Word in areas He has convicted us in, as we walk in obedience, He changes our heart. he desires our hearts to be faithful. Once you have become honest with God, and confess and then repent, God can teach you cncerning faithfulness, and in the future being much more careful and prayerful before making a vow. "What about if not paying my vow or late? What God do or say? Is it curse?" It is sin and sin opens the door for Satan. through confession and repentence that door is closed and the accuser can no longer accuse you. Reread the above scripture. What does it say? Pay your vow! If it is financial and you are having difficulty, seek financial counseling but not to avoid paying, but rather to find the way to pay. Once your heart is committed to obedience, God will show you the way. Luke 16:10-12 God is faithful and as He through His Word and by the power f the Holy spirit transforms us into the image of Christ, faithfulness should be our character as well. God bless |

64 | HARRY POTTER books, good or bad? | Is 5:20 | gracefull | 87079
Isaiah 5:20 20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! In a survey done recently a large percentage (I believe it was 40 percent) within the Christian community (professing Christianity) and out do not believe there are any absolutes..that moral don'ts are conditional based on the circumstances. When professing believers give their children books, with their stamp of approval on them, which depict the evil of witchcraft or wizards which draw their power from a source other than God's Spirit(substituting darkness for light) they are sending the message to their children that evil is good. 66 | Did God create evil? | Is 45:7 | gracefull | 88822
I have read some of this thread and ....I don't know why but this seems simple to me..... Sin is twisted or perverted good...love/hate, faith/fear life/death give/covet.. Romans tells us that had the LAW not come there would be no sin. Sin, which is evil, is to oppose God's laws. Adam and Eve were given one command..do not eat, and they acted evil by choosing to disobey. When free will is given inevitably someone or something (Satan and his angelic following) will choose to rebel. But had there been no law, and had there been no choice, there would be no evil...Evil was not created, Romans 7:6-8 6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. 7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. 8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. Anything that does not fulfill this commandment is sin. Matthew 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. God bless |

Dear RJJ We are spirit, soul, and body. To be made whole includes all three. Spiritually, soul(mind, will, emotions) and body. 1 Thess. 5:23And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. I do not know if this is the one you are refering to. Isiah 59:19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. |

69 | Repeat questions | Jer 7:22 | gracefull | 85181
Mark 7:6 "He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me." To worship God verbally or religiously while our heart is selfish and self seeking, disregarding the direction of the Holy Spirit.... Examples... 1. To go to church every time the doors are open, yet we do not love our neighbor and in many cases, not even our own families. 2. We tithe and give regularly out of pride and obligation, and out of our abundance, rather than from a heart of love and desire for the gospel to go forth and children fed. 3. We sing songs of praise and surrender, then make our own decisions without even asking God. 4. Prayer is a formal routine not mixed with faith that God actually hears and answers. God bless |

70 | How can God change his mind? | Jer 18:10 | gracefull | 73079
God says if the people will repent, I will reverse my decision. This really is no different from what we are faced with today. There is judgement pronounced against sinners, but if they will 'hear' and 'turn' (repent), that judgement will be reversed in the life of the individual. Psalm 119:104-106 His word is our lamp to show us through the darkness.... To walk in the light or darkness is our choice. Becoming mature is often a painful process. The awareness that God has made us accountable for our actions is often a lesson not well received. God is omniscient but He through His word has established spiritual laws or principles necessary to receive His blessings. God NEVER deviates from His word. He is not unpredictable. The terms unpredictable and just contradict each other. God bless Simply put..do it His way and receive His promises. |

72 | How do we seek the Kingdom of God? | Matthew | gracefull | 78784
Colossians 1:12-14 giving thanks to the Father , who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. For He has rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. We as born again believers have been transfered or translated, (moved from one to the other and is a fact, not an EFFORT). To seek the kingdom is not to attempt to attain it but rather the process of becoming aware of it and faithful in it. By this I mean simply that many believers understand the kingdom of God to be either heaven which they believe we must somehow earn, or that heaven is all we gained when we were redeemed. Others believe it is an external spiritual world we drift in and out of as the Holy Spirit chooses. However, according to Colossians we are already IN the kingdom of God if we have accepted the redemptive work of Jesus. So what does the scripture 'Seek ye first the kingdom of God' mean in light of the fact that we are already IN IT? It means to seek surrender to the leadership of the Holy Spirit and move from carnal awareness (senses living-tast, touch, smell-comfort seeking for the physical) to spiritual awareness and obedience. When one recognizes that they are spirit beings filled with the Spirit of God and have a calling and a purpose in this world beyond the survival and comfort training we received from natural birth, these things lose their significance and God's will for our life and His call for each of us personally becomes first priority, God then supplies our needs, as we are focused on His will and purpose. We no longer work to provide for ourselves, we work at the job or task God has directed us to for His service, or we move forward in the ministry He has called us to (go to some remote village in another country, and He will provide what we need while we minister His Word. My guess is He is calling you to a closer more intimate walk with Him and to put your need t provide for yourself in a lesser priority. Spend more time in prayer and the Word and less time doing other things you feel are important. Sometimes God convicts us of sin to be removed from our lives, and sometimes He is simply asking us to let go of our priorities or dreams and replace them with HIS. God bless! |

73 | What does "the kingdom of God is at hand | Matthew | gracefull | 81692
ASIS provided several scriptures to research. I would only like to add that the Kingdom of God is the spiritual rhelm we were born into by the new birth and we are to learn by the guidance of the Holy spirit and the Word to function in that kingdom while living in a mortal body. Jesus did indeed demonstrate what kingdom living is supposed to be. Though in a human body, He went, spoke, slept, ate, lived what the Holy Spirit directed. Luke 12:22-30 You will see one example of the operation of the Holy Spirit in the Kingdom of God. God bless |

74 | I unerstand, but that's not my question | Matthew | gracefull | 93318
Hello Chusarcil, While I believe 3 days in the 'heart of the earth' is debatable as Hell, Gehenna, Abraham's Bosom, Paradise, etc.....the question you ask here is who was Jesus preaching to? The faithful dead...Those who died under the Old Covenant in faithful looking forward to Jesus redemptive work. Hebrews 11:39-40 39 And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised, 40 because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect. Does that help? Or have I jumped in here also 'missing the point'? God bless |

75 | Am I understanding your meaning? | Matthew | gracefull | 93604
Chusarcik, I was pondering the various responses her and your question in light of the scripture in 1 Peter. I wonder if Jesus preached to those who died before Noah because they did not have the covenant given to Abraham. Abraham was not born until chapter 11 and Noah built the Ark in chapter 5. I wonder if scripture supports God's offering His grace reaching through Jesus to them as weel as those who died in faith after the covenant? This is a question for discussion. I have not studied it out. But odviously scripture clearly says Jesus preached to them. God bless |

76 | Continuing search why 3 days in earth? | Matthew | gracefull | 93716
Hi Chusarcik I am a literalist. I take scripture for what is says in the context it is stated in. In light of that, my answer would have to be, 'No'. Without the above set of rules for study, we can use scripture to create or confirm any doctrine we choose. 1 Peter 3:18-20 states emphatically that Jesus preached....in Hell. Look at the Amplified... 18For Christ [the Messiah Himself] died for sins once for all, the Righteous for the unrighteous (the Just for the unjust, the Innocent for the guilty), that He might bring us to God. IN HIS HUMAN BODY HE WAS PUT TO DEATH, BUT HE WAS MADE ALIVE IN THE SPIRIT, 19 IN WHICH (in what? His Spirit) He went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20[The souls of those] who long before in the days of Noah had been disobedient, when God's patience waited during the building of the ark in which a few [people], actually eight in number, were saved through water. Jesus literaly preached to the souls that died before Noah. Now the only reason Jesus, or us for that matter) would preach to ANYONE is to relay the message of the gospel in order that the hearer becomes accountable for what they KNOW. From Genesis to Revelation, God expounded His Word to convey His will for us to have a choice of obedience or rejection. Now scripture tells us that Noah preached the coming flood day by day as the Ark was being built. They had a choice then and rejected. Either Christ was demonstrating the choice they rejected or giving them another choice, I do not know. Those raised at the time of Jesus rexurrecton were called 'saints'. Either these were the righteous dead or they were repentant forgiven unrighteous souls. All here is speculation. Only the Holy Spirit can give us a clear answer somewhere in scripture. But as a literalist, Jesus died physically, his Spirit ascended to Hell and preached to the souls that were disobedient in the days of Noah. God bless |

77 | Matthew 4:8 | Matt 4:8 | gracefull | 78976
Hi Kofi.. Scripture does not indicate whetther Satan appeared physically or merely 'spoke' to Jesus. What it does state is that he was, in fact, present. Satan was offering worldly kingdoms, but Jesus did not come for a worldly kingdom but to fulfill the will of God and provide the eternal kingdom of God for all who would come. I believe when someone sells their soul for worldly authority Satan can use his influence to elevate them to power. Daniel 10:13-20 indicates that there was an angelic being (prince of Persia) that withstood Daniel's visitor and Michael had to assist in order for this messenger to get through. He and Michael were to fight the prince of Persia (note, not the king of Persia). God bless, |

79 | know Him? | Matt 5:14 | gracefull | 91599
Good afternoon angel, 1.Many do not recognize that they CAN know Him, 2. and others are affraid because they do not clearly understand the grace of God and the relationship they have come into. 3. Some avoid the light because of sin they are not willing to release. At the mount the Israelites drew back from the presence of God and begged Moses to go in for them...they were affraid. Relationship is coming into the light. That has been my observation. God bless |

80 | Law, Curses, Resurrection, Regeneration | Matt 5:18 | gracefull | 74743
1. Righteousness and justification are received by faith in the atonement of Jesus Christ, and not by the law. Romans 3:21,28 4:5.10-12 9:29 Galatians 2:16 3:11, 24 We are righteous and just before God through faith, not the law. The law pointed to Christ through the rituals and ordinances. It demonstrated or revealed to man the need of a saviour in that we could not fulfill the law perfectly and achieve righteousness through it. The circumcised and faithful Israel made the avenue for Jesus to come to earth. .. Deuteronomy 28:15-68 states the curses pronounced by God toward disobedience. Does disobedience still produce the curses in the life of the believer? Those who have not been born again are continually operating under the curse. But Jesus was made a curse for us, and redeemed us from the curse of the law of sin and death. I believe the reason many of us still walk in defeat and all of walk in defeat somewhere is because we allow it rather than God ordaining it. If I am righteous as Jesus is righteous, the curse has no place in my life. But by faith I must lay hold of this truth because my enemy Satan is constantly trying to steal my liberty. Any questions? Comments? I can't respond to #3 or #4 God bless |
