41 | Gender?? | Deut 6:4 | gracefull | 86752
Hi, John 4:24 24 God is a SPIRIT: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Gender differences are for this carnal life mainly for the purpose of procreation. Jesus told the Pharasees that in Heaven there would be neither marrying or giving in marriage. Gender issues are stricly for this life. Matthew 22 Mark 12 Luke 20 Hope this helps, God bless |

42 | John:30-33 Manna | Josh 16:1 | gracefull | 66962
Joshua 16 Israel was just miraculously delivered from Egypt by God through Moses. They began to murmor and complain that at least in Egypt they had plenty of food... Jesus perceived that the heart of the matter here was food. These were seeking him for food. He is trying to get them to look beyond their stomach (fleshly desires) to the spiritual. He was offering the 'food for the spirit'. Three things to consider.. 1. Was it a miraculous sign they were seeking really? Jesus does not think so because He said you came seeking food. 2. Just as Israel murmored against Moses and accusing him as if he was the one who brought them out..these were saying give us manna 'as Moses' did. These are totally carnal minded and see Jesus as another Moses and not as the Son of God. Thus Jesus says Moses did not give you manna, my Father did. 3.The request for manna to 'prove' God sent Jesus was a carnal attempt to manipulate Jesus into giving them food. They already had many miracles to look at for a 'sign'. Their hearts were carnal and hardened. Yes Jesus wants to give them spiritual food and is trying to get them to look beyond the carnal. I believe if you will read where Jesus said Seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. (MY EMPHASIS ON FIRST)This is the essence of what Jesus is saying here in John..Seek the spiritual first, God will provide the rest. Does that help? |

43 | Why do people fast? | Judg 20:26 | gracefull | 75460
Isaiah 58 is an excellent discourse on fasting. One can fast anything. To fast something that is hindering your walk, TV, sports, whatever we love that needs to be disciplined in our life, and to bring our flesh into submission, and that time should be spent with the Lord in prayer and the Word. Isaiah 58 explains what God considers an acceptable fast and also states the benefits of such a fast. God bless |

44 | HOW WAS THE SACRFAICE DEFILED | 1 Sam 2:12 | gracefull | 73369
The key scripture is vers 12 Eli's sons were wicked men; they did not know the LORD. God had an established legal proceedure and the sons of Eli had no regard for God, no fear. The sacrafice was to be BOILED and the priest's servant was to insert a 3 pronged fork(trinity symbolism) and whatever was pulled up belonged to the priest. The sons of Eli decided they did not want the sacrifice to be boiled and threatened any of the people who opposed. They became arrogant to the point that they had no regard for God. |

45 | Who is compelling us when we sin? | 1 Sam 13:12 | gracefull | 80553
Despite the power (little power) of Satan man chooses his destiny. 2 corinthians 2:14-17 What is more, their minds were made stonelike; for to this day the same veil remains over them when they read the Old Covenant; it has not been unveiled, because only by Messiah is the veil taken away. Yes, till today, whenever Moshe(Moses) is read, a veil lies over their heart. "BUT." says the Torah(law), "whenever someone turns to Adonai, the veil is taken away.".Now Adonai in this text means the Spirit. And where the Spirit of Adonai is, there is freedom. So all of us with faces unveiled, see as in a mirror the glory of the Lord; and we are being changed into His image, from one degree of glory to the nest, by Adonai the Spirit. Man chooses...God empowers God bless, |

48 | What was the answer? | 1 Sam 28:12 | gracefull | 80124
In Genesis, God gave man(Adam) authority over the earth. Genesis 1:26-28 Prior to this time, Satan ruled here. When Adam sinned, he returned the authority to Satan. Satan actually did still have authority here until Jesus took it back. Acts 2:24 Colossians 1:9-13 9 For this reason also, (21) since the day we heard of it, (22) we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the (23) knowledge of His will in all spiritual (24) wisdom and understanding, 10 so that you will (25) walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, (26) to please Him in all respects, (27) bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 (28) strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; (29) joyously 12 giving thanks to (30) the Father, who has qualified us to share in (31) the inheritance of the saints in (32) Light 13 For He rescued us from the (33) domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of (34) His beloved Son, God bless |

49 | finding the true mother of a child | 1 Kin 3:25 | gracefull | 89768
Hello Tic 24 And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king. 25 And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other. 26 Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it. Solomon knew the true mother would not allow her child to die. She would lte him go before she would let him die.A mother's love for her child is a sacrificial love. God bless |

50 | What does the tree represent? | 1 Kin 19:4 | gracefull | 82889
The prophet was exhauseted and discouraged. He had been in spiritual battle. He needed time for 'refreshing' from the Lord. Ministry does that. An athlete can't run and run and run without eventually needing to 'refuel'. Our spirits are the same way. We need the Holy Spirit to refresh us in the Word. Jesus went aside to pray often. I do not believe there is any significance to the type of tree, but am open for someone who may have found otherwise in scripture. God bless |

52 | How do I trust Christians again | Psalm | gracefull | 81954
Our faith is in God,and we love one another. When our faith is in Gods we love our brothers and sisters through Him, and not because if the way they treat us, good or bad. When the people praised Jesus He did not take their praise to heart becuase He knew how they would soon turn and cry 'crucify Him'. People should not impact our walk whether it is their praise or their persecution, because our eyes should be on Jesus and following the direction of the Holy Spirit and the Word. God bless.... |

54 | not sober, people | Ps 3:1 | gracefull | 75057
There are probably millions of Christians who are still in bondage to something. You must remember that we are saved through faith in Jesus Christ as savior, not works. Also keep in mind that our ONLY righteousness is Jesus' righteousness provided as a free gift. We as humans are not in a position to judge another's salvation. I suggest if you know someone that you pray for them that if they are not saved, God would convict and bring them to repentance. And if they are saved, that God would reveal to them that He has provided deliverance for the addictions. Worrying about the salvation of another (or worrying about anything for that matter) is fruitless. Prayer is powerful! I hope I answerd your question. The fact is noone can give you assurance of the salvation of anyone! When in doubt PRAY! If you love them PRAY! Prayer is powerful! God bless |

55 | Is Bankruptcy Stealing? | Ps 15:1 | gracefull | 78329
I was there once and God taught me this way. The lesson was very painful, but the reward of obedience has been very great. I found joy and liberty and peace through obedience and personal honesty. Psalm 15 Adonai, who can rest in Your tent? Who can live on Your holy mountain? Those who live a blameless life, who behave uprightly, who speak the truth in their hearts and keep their tongues from slander; who never do harm to others or seek to discredit neighbors; who look with scorn on the vile, but honour those who fear Adonai;WHO HOLD AN OATH, NO MATTER WHAT THE COST; who refuse usury when they lend money and refuse a bribe to damage the innocent. THOSE WHO DO THESE THINGS WIL NEVER BE MOVED. And as you said: Romans 13:8 Owe no man but to love him. Two major lessons can be found in your delima.. 1. A very important eternal spiritual truth is to be learned here. We will never trust the faithfulness of God until we overcome our human nature which is to be unfaithful. 2. Blaming others for our bad choices is a sure way to remain in trouble..IE "This particular credit card creditor charged an unreasonable and unfair amount of interest..".No one forced you to accept or use the card and creditors are required by law to reveal their interest rates up front. the time to make the decision that the rates were to high was BEFORE you committed. The verse in Psalms says the person who swears an oath (your word, signature is an oath) to his own hurt but does not back away learns the price of faithfulness and the reward. I suggest you take all your debt, (actual bills or a list of everything) and place them on the alter (humble yourself before God and repent for you poor stewardship of His provision, and comit to honour your oaths no matter what the cost..second job, third job, self sacrifice. Ask Him for wisdom on how to do this and for the strength to carry you to the end of your committments. If your heart is sincere, God will give you joy and peace as you pay off your debt. The joy wil come from the Holy Spirit. Thus the promise of Psalm 15 You will rest in His tent, find rest on His holy mountain and you will not be moved. You wil become faithful and solid and the enemy will not have any place. If you take the unloving way out, you will find yourself facing more situations of unfaithfulness. Now is a real good time to put your hand to the plow and do what is right. P.S. There are several good nonprofit organizations that will help you by working with the creditors to lower their rates, but the best way would be to just buckle down and handle it. Anything that eases the pain tends to weaken the lesson, and increase thr posibility that you will do it again. God bless! |

56 | special revelation vs general revelation | Ps 19:1 | gracefull | 89030
Mel, I agree with Micodemus in part. Psalm 19:1 is speaking of natural knowledge. How can one not observe the magnificance of God's creation and not come to the realization (mental assent) that there is a creator, God. Spiritual revelation is the Spirit(God's) to our spirit, thus revealing to us the NATURE and WILL of God. Has the Holy Spirit ceased to give revelation? The theory is that once the New Testament was written, there was no longer any need for revelaton. I see that scripture makes no such distinction. As a matter of fact, the Old Covenant belivers for the most part operated without divine revelation, relying on the the law to teach them 'about' God. Hebrews 8:10 speaks of the difference between the Old Covenant believers and the New Covenant believers. "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:" Joel prophesied of this time when God's Spirit would be available to all rather than a few who God chose to reveal His will through. Acts 2:15-21 15 For these men are not drunk, as you imagine, for it is [only] the third hour (about 9:00 a.m.) of the day; 16 But [instead] this is [the beginning of] what was spoken through the prophet Joel: 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, God declares, that I will pour out of My Spirit upon ALL MANKIND, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy [telling forth the divine counsels] and your young men shall see visions (divinely granted appearances), and your old men shall dream [divinely suggested] dreams. 18 Yes, and on My menservants also and on My maidservants in those days I will pour out of My Spirit, and they shall prophesy [telling forth the divine counsels and [predicting future events pertaining especially to God's kingdom]. 19 And I will show wonders in the sky above and signs on the earth beneath, blood and fire and smoking vapor; 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the obvious day of the Lord comes--that great and notable and conspicuous and renowned [day]. 21 And it shall be that whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord [invoking, adoring, and worshiping the Lord--Christ] shall be saved. Scripture tells us that without diine revelation man cannot KNOW God. It is divine revelation when the Holy Spirit reveals we are sinners in need of a savior. 1 Corinthians 2:10-16 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. 11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, SO THAT WE MAY KNOW THE THINGS FREELY GIVEN US BY GOD, 13 which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. 14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. 15 But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. 16 For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ. Indeed, revelation of spiritual things comes only by the Holy Spirit and is absolutely necessary to KNOW God. The continual revelation of Him by the Holy Spirit is how we are being continually transformed into His image. 2 Peter 1:2-4 2 Grace and peace be yours in full measure, as you come to a full KNOWLEDGE of God and Yeshua our Lord; 3 God's power has given us everything we need for life and godliness, through our KNOWING the One who called us to His glory and goodness. By these He has given us valuable and superlativly great promises, so that through them(promises) you might come to share in God's nature and escape the corruption which evil desires have brought upon the world. Revelation is the KNOWING that transforms us. Psalm 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. 'Special revelation' is spiritual revealing of God's heart to our heart, and will always agree with scripture. That is how we test the 'voice'. God bless |

57 | Help to borrower who doesn't pay back | Ps 37:21 | gracefull | 70060
The other posts here bring excellent points to the table. Solomon spoke often in Proverbs on lending and finances, and recognized many pitfalls in dealing with it. Many friends and families have come into division over it. I decided at one point many years ago when facing a situation like yours, that I had to find God's heart on the matter and settle it for myself in order to have peace. I suggest you do a word search on lend, and borrow because God does have some very specific things to say on the subject. The other two post point to two specific issues. The offense and your response to the offense. The offense is clear that your friend did not keep their word which is a violation of trust. But your response must be your main concern. The first step would be to be very honest with God about your true feelings and motives. Another's wrong does not justify an unloving heart because God has provided the means to purify our hearts. The reason this is so vital is that whatever path the Holy Spirit directs you must be taken in love, and unless your heart is pure more harm can be done. Luke 6:30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. Deuteronomy 15:2-19 This passage is excellent for setting guidelines on lending/giving. Based on this and Proverbs I concluded that since everything I have was given to me by my Father to USE but not possess, I do not 'lend', I give. If someone gives back, I consider that a contribution back to God to regive. I concluded this when the Lord instructed me to 'give' to him, or release the debt of someone who owed me as a gift unto Him. Peace came to my soul. Now if a brother or sister asks and I have to give, I give and I do not lend. It would be fine to speak to your friend on the subject if God leads you to do so, but not until any anger, resentment or bitterness has been removed. More harm will be done in the kingdom then, but if you can speak and have no concern for getting 'paid back' you are free and you can set your friend free as well. This way the true enemy is the looser. |

58 | Punishment for the Traitor / Friend? | Ps 55:20 | gracefull | 84931
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Luke 23:24 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; When I read the Old Covenant and read concerning enemies, my mind always jumps to Jesus' command to love our enemies, and we are to look beyond those that injure us to the demonic forces we are actually in war against. While certainly it is mankind's willingness to hear and obey the enemy that gives him his edge, nonetheless, he is our enemy. Our prayers for the enlightenment of those who are influenced by these principalities and powers is the way to win! There is a huge difference in the tone of the Old Covenant and the New, but we know God never changes. Odviously God in Jesus revealed the true nature of God to man and the will of God to man. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you a revelation of the unity of the Old and New Covenant despite the odvious difference in their wording. Always read the Old in the light of the New. Hope this helps God bless |

59 | A Private Hot Line to God? | Ps 119:105 | gracefull | 89055
Radioman, I have a question.. Gregory Koukl said: "'Note that I have a very robust doctrine of the Holy Spirit. I'm charismatic in that I believe in the perpetuity of spiritual gifts and in energetic worship. The real question is-- and this is vital-- Are we justified in claiming that our personal, private, first-person, subjective experiences give us authoritative knowledge about God, or about what God wants us to do?" Scripture speaks in regard to Spiritual gifts: 1 Corinthians 12:8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: The gift of the word of knowledge is a revelatory gift. It is the manifestation of the Holy Spirit (God) speaking to somenone revealing something to them regarding someone or some situation. Also the gift of prophesy is a revelatory gift which is to 'reveal' a word or message from God. The gift of 'interpretation' is also revelatory. If we believe the gifts are still active today in the body of Christ, then what do you suppose Gregory Koukl meant when he concluded with,"'My answer is nowhere does the Bible give us that liberty. It does not enjoin us to assess our feelings and then judge whether they are a manifestation of the voice of God or not.'" I believe he is attempting to warn us to not be led by feelings, but the fact is believers are constantly learning to discern the voice of the Holy Spirit. And since Jesus used the word 'voice' when He said, "My sheep shall know(recognize) My voice.." Scripture does indeed tell us to obey the Spirit and if the Spirit says speak, we must speak and acknowledge it is from God. Gregory asks, "The real question is-- and this is vital-- Are we justified in claiming that our personal, private, first-person, subjective experiences give us authoritative knowledge about God, or about what God wants us to do? My response, We are justified to make this claim if the Holy Spirit has directed us. In light of Romans 8 verse 14 we the SONS are led by the Spirit. I would say that this scripture alone gives the sons of God the justification to say "God spoke to me and directed me to..." or "God is leading me to do...". To anyone who knows they have 'heard' the word 'spoke' is an accurate description. Romans 8:14 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. KJV 14 14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. NAS The prophesy, the word of knowledge, any word from God to a believer must be subject to SCRIPTURE. Anyone who says otherwise is either very young in the Lord (and the Lord will discipline His own)or an emmisary from Satan sent to sow discord and deception in the body of Christ. God bless God bless |

60 | Bible verses needed, for lying 14 yr old | Prov 1:1 | gracefull | 70347
The Proverbs speak a good bit concerning God's attitude toward lying. However I wonder what you a looking for? Once you teach the definition of lying, the motivation of lying, (look closely at what she is lying about for clues) and the consequences of lying you have covered it. After that there is choice and consequences. You said, "I have found some, but they are not directed to her age" Proverbs 6:16-18 says There are six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, and a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that run rapidly to evil. At 14 she can understand God hates a lying tongue. The consequences (beyond your discipline) is that noone will take her seriously, noone will consider her words relevant, and her words should be an expression of who she is. You might ask the Holy Spirit to show you why she chooses to lie so you can address the heart of the matter. |
