Greetings Tim - I have just been meditating on Luke 6:46-68. Consider this passage in light of the text of Mt 16:18. Any observations here? Blessings, t |

62 | How to "win the world" ? | Bible general Archive 2 | Mommapbs | 134327
Greetings - a few questions for you to consider - 1. How does a "church" feel? 2. Why is this something to be afraid of? 3. Could you be mistaking fellowship and intimacy for the "love and comfort of the Holy Spirit? 4. Since when does God require others to demonstrate these to His children? 5. Since you are "more comfortable" in the church you attend, are you "playing Christian?" How does John 6:44 relate to "How to win the world? Blessings, mommapbs |

Misty - have you read the posts that Perry5 has written here? Have you read the Lockman Foundations guidleine for posting? Perry5 is in violation of those guidlines. I'm not judging him, just making an observation and asking questions that may cause him/her to question why he is here (not just on the Forum!) and for what purpose. I hope this clears up any misunderstanding. Please also bear in mind that "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day." John 6:44. We are but His witnesses, I'm sorry if I disappointed you. Blessings, mommapbs |

64 | Question for Glory Bound | Bible general Archive 2 | Mommapbs | 134423
GB - Are translations Scripture? DO THEY meet the qualification of being "inspired or God breathed" - meaning "that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God." 2 Peter 1:20-21. Imo, "All Scripture is inspired" is not the same as all translations are inspired. What assurance do we have that these translators were also "moved by the Holy Spirit"? I've read through this thread, and it seems to me that since you appear to be unwilling to back up your claim (and BTW, it is YOUR claim) might I suggest that you simply change your user profile? Blessings, mommapbs |

65 | Question for Glory Bound | Bible general Archive 2 | Mommapbs | 134474
GB - This is what you have stated: "if you do not use the KJ or NIV, which without a doubt ARE INSPIRED TRANSLATIONS, I would strongly suggest that first and foremost, you pray and ask that the Holy Spirit lead you to the TRUTH of the WORD." "If you do not agree with what I state, challenge me to prove it scripturally." Glory Bound, all Hank and others have done is to take you at your word. We disagree with the above statement and are asking you to "prove it scripturally." No one disagrees with the AUTHORITY or TRUTH of God's Word, we just don't agree that translations (ANY of them!) are "inspired." As Hank noted, only the original autographs meet this qualification.(ref 2 Peter 1:20-21) I'm sorry that you feel that you have been attacked personally. However, imo, it is not the Forum that has generated this within you. We have but one "accuser". God wants us to be honest about ourselves. (Ps 51:6) When a brother challenges you and you respond defensively, it makes me wonder what else you are unwilling to be honest about. Faithful are the wounds of a friend. Prov 27:6. This post was misdirected - I'd like an answer to EdB's question too. From EdB GB I just had my eyes opened are you "Exhorter" and "GeorJoy" of the past? Isn't that deceit? Is that how a Christian is to act? You were asked by Lockman to stop posting on this forum. Now you come back under an alias as wolf in sheep clothing and start calling another honored member of this forum a non Christian. God said we would know them by their fruit and now we see yours. 67 | Question for Glory Bound | Bible general Archive 2 | Mommapbs | 134580
Misdirected Post from GB to EdB Ed I am who I am. Neither now, nor have I ever claimed to be anyone other. I wonder though, are there not many herein depicted in your note? Do you consider me a criminal because I defend what I have learned in scripture, or because you disagree with how, or what I advocate? Are you so offended by one who rocks your boat that you would consider me one whom you apparently hated in times past? When have I "called another honored member of this forum a non Christian?" As I suspected, you rally to the support of your friend, rather than admit that he may have been wrong. I rebuked this person when he was in the wrong. He then chose to take offense, and proceeded to attack my very next post in every sort available. I begged this person not to drag me into such a godless conversation. He refused, and was then joined by others such as yourself. He then chose to nit pick my profile. You did the same. If this is what you consider "how a Christian is to act," then I can only pray for you and your friends. I will not, however continue to allow them to drag me into their Godless splutter. I come to this forum to learn, and hopefully to share my gift. It is apparent that there are those herein who profess, yet have no desire to adhere to scripture. So be it. This is there decision. I cannot, nor do I intend to attempt to change them. I only ask for the same respect, which has been refused me thus far. |

Greetings "T" and welcome to the Forum - AMEN - salvation starts and ends with God. I'm so glad it was HIS idea - just imagine what it would look like if WE were in charge!! (But do keep reading; I suspect you'll catch a glimpse of this "bad idea" from time to time here!) Blessings to you! t |

Thanks Hank - you are indeed an astute fellow, very uncharacteristic of you to post gibberish, perhaps that's what caught my eye . . .however re: Mediterranean . . . being from the South an all,I'm wondering about your use of the Kings's English here. . . we make friends, we make art and we make cakes, but grades? Aren't we given those? Us Northerners would say he "got" Seas rather than "made" them. Perhaps we could start some lengthy thread on this discussion? Thanks for the welcome back! momma |

Reighnskye - I have no idea what's going through your mind right now but I suspect that you are reacting to the very first interchange on this thread. As one who is frequently guilty of "interpretation", I understand your passion to allow the Holy Spirit to speak through the Scriptures to you. May you desire His activity as you examine your motives on this thread as well. Blessings, mommapbs |

Greetings Hank - why is it that so many folks have trouble or angst over ther term "born again?" I'd really like your input on this, you wrote: I never refer to myself as a born-again Christian, because I hold that there neither is nor can be a Christian who has never experienced the new birth in Christ. Every believer in Jesus Christ is, by definition, "born again." Yet why are we so hesitant to proclaim this and what has been tied to this reality to make is so unpopular? (imo, legalism might fit here) The message of the Incarnation has been kept in the manger; imo, the reality of "Christ in (us), the hope of glory" (Col 1:27; 1 Peter 3:15) been ignored and perhaps even lost by some . . . Any suggestions or observations? Blessings, mommapbs |

Hi Tim - wanting to be "clear as mud" on this . . why is being "born again" often perceived negatively? Discuss "born from above" a bit. Can we connect this to Ez 36:26, 2 Cor 5:16,17? Thanks for your input. Blessings t |

Thanks Tim - as part of my Christmas devotional, I'm focusing on the Incarnation of Christ - not just the Birth as recorded in Bethlehem, but rejoicing over the "new birth" (ours) as recorded in Heaven! Abide with us Emmanuel - God in flesh appearing - be born in us today! (Those old song writers really had it right!) Blessings to you and yours! |

Greetings Hank - I do "hear you!" Indeed it is redundant. Is it important to differentiate between those who "believe in Christ" and those who have "put Him on?" How does one discern the heart of another? I don't mean to provoke anything here Hank - but shouldn't the new birth be GOOD NEWS! Yet so often I find folks deriding it or refusing to wear the "label." mommapbs |

Once more Hank - SO, it is up to us to be faith full "witnesses" of the Light within! However, my concern is for those whose follow those whose "light is darkness"! (Luke 11:35)Blind guides also comes to mind here. I thank God for you and the Light He has given to you; for His Spirit of wisdom and discernment and your willingness to be HIS instrument here. mommapbs |

Ok Searcher it may be a loooooooooonnngg stretch, but as mothers would say to their infants as they reached out, "Stretch and grow!" I hope you don't see all stretching as a bad thing! Sometimes we have to stretch to see if we can't reach something too. mommapbs |

Greetings Thy Will - does a person have to walk into a church building to feel the power, love, and joy of the Holy Spirit? Does the Holy Spirit reside in a church building? In my opinion and experience, there are many churches and individuals with "Icabod" over their doors and hearts. Indeed the place will be "Christ-like" if Jesus is "at home" in the hearts of the individuals worshipping there. See Hank's post 105330 Blessings, mommapbs |
