Thanks Hank - I'll check it out! I did a little "heads up" research about Dr.Dino and found enough controversy to make me a little wary. I agree with you and your oh so humble opinion :)about the God getting it right the first time. Just wanted the appropriate "ammunition" at my disposal to debunk the notion that God made just a few animals for Adam to play with! Looking at some of the animals that God created, I think we can assume that He indeed has a sense of humor! I'm leaving for the weekend, but will read your post and get back to you! Blessings, Mommapbs |

Greetings Learn: JESUS is the ONLY WAY (John14:6) The things that we do or NOT do have no bearing on God's love for us. He loves us unconditionally - this is what is SO AMAZING about God's GRACE! NO ONE who has accepted Jesus as their personal Savior from sin is denied entrance into Heaven. Christians still sin! Sure, it's wrong not to help, and if we choose not to be obedient, we can expect to encounter some form of Divine discipline. Please read Hebrews 12:5-11. Blessings, Mommapbs |

Greetings Learn! 1 John 1:9 assures us of God's forgiveness and cleansing however, He alone is able to judge the condition of our heart as we recognize sin in our lives. As we contemplate the absolute holiness of God, His purity, His love and mercy we have an opportunity to respond to Him as we examine the character of our own lives. We can live in denial (I'm good enough, or nobody's perfect);indifference (God will always forgive me so why not keep right on sinning) or repentance (remorse with a DESIRE to turn away from the sin!) There is much to be gleaned from God's Word on this subject! Learn, I encourage you to seek the guidance that is yours through the in-dwelling Holy Spirit! Type in "repentance" in the search words field. Also there are some worthy posts on the subject of repentance in the "quick search" feature at the top right of the web page. God KNOWS your heart. He is the righteous judge. You asked, "If the time ever comes in which, for whatever reason and whatever type, I sin and I refuse to feel remorse for committing this sin. Over and over again - will God ever refuse to grant me salvation?" The Lord knows who belongs to Him. I'm in the camp of "once saved, always saved!" Read John 10:28-29. I do believe that the believer who chooses to continue to live in sin will reap what he sows. See 1 Cor 11:27-32. I would urge you to PRAISE GOD for WHO HE IS! The more we focus our thoughts on HIS attributes, the more cognizent we become of our desperate need for Him! And when we begin to realize the depth of His love for us (just the way we are) we respond in love to Him by obeying His commands; CHOOSING to walk in the same manner as Jesus did. As Paul recognizes in Romans 7-8, we have a sin nature and a nature that has been changed by the indwelling Holy Spirit. Which ever nature we choose to feed, that will be the dominant force that motivates and influences our actions and behaviors. "No one can serve two masters!" I hope that you will continue to seek the Lord through His Word! Blessings, Mommapbs |

Greetings again Learn! My prayer for you is that the Holy Spirit will guide you into all Truth, and that you will come to know the Truth and find freedom there. "Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away." James 4:14 Our life is but a vapor; it can be over in an instant and then we will face Almighty God. But there is NO CONDEMNATION for those who are IN CHRIST JESUS - believers in Jesus as their personal Savior from the penalty of sin are saved from God's wrath and have nothing to fear. (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Romans 5:8; Romans 8:1; 1 John 4:17-18) So now I am going to be bold, you asked Hank about the demons. Yes, the demons believe and tremble. But they tremble because they KNEW who Jesus is and rejected Him; they KNOW that the wrath of God is the consequence of rejection. YOU have a choice to make as well; either you believe that Jesus IS who HE claimed to be for YOU personally, or you reject Him. What is it going to be for you? Be very careful about the decision you make, for your eternal destiny hangs in the balance. Blessings are yours in Jesus! Mommapbs |

Greetings Brian! In reading your profile you say that you are a relatively new Christian. Please elaborate on this for me. Also, You wrote, "I realize this is what has been missing." WHAT is missing? Please explain. I think I know where you are getting hung up but I'd like to learn more about your experience with the Lord. Blessings, Mommapbs |

Thanks for the info! It is obvious that God is indeed drawing you into a relationship with Him. The following is sobering advice from King David, a true friend of God and a man after God's own heart. May you seek Him in like Manner! "As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever." 1 Chronicles 28:9 When some people consider Christianity, too often they get the cart before the horse. They think that in order to BE a Christian one must DO Christ-like things. So, they try to follow the example of Jesus in their thoughts and actions. While this is admirable, it will not earn any favor with God. For God loves us just as we are- sinners. Hank pretty well summed it all up for you, echoing the Scriptures I asked you to look at. There is NOTHING that we have to DO to earn God's Grace - that's what is So AMAZING! (and so contrary to everything we have been taught by society! But remember that God's ways are NOT our ways.) I commend a great book to you by Max Lucado called "In the Grip of Grace". I found this to be a wonderful explanation of what God has DONE to make a WAY (Jesus) for US to COME to HIM!!!! Many blessings on your journey. Those that rest in the saftey of His shadow must walk behind Him. (This is the 9-1-1 RESCUE call to God - PSALM 91:1!) Mommapbs |

Greetings! Oh how I agree with the Word! It is indeed precious and ever so relevant to exactly where we are our daily journey with God. However, I would caution you to not "limit God" just because you have never had the experience of hearing an "audible voice." It is inappropriate to say "people who hear voices tend to ignore the Word." Many believers who are devoted to God and committed to His Word have "heard" an audible voice from the Lord, and others have not. Those words "in my experience" are indeed subjective. Please do not make assumptions of how God wants to get our attention, or communicate with His children based upon those alone! It's like saying, "Because I have never experienced a miraculous healing, God only heals through the practice of available medicine." If God is who HE says HE IS, shouldn't we EXPECT Him to act in a miraculous manner? Seems to me that Scripture sure supports this characterisitic of the God I love and worship! Even those who hear the voice of God through His Word should seek confirmation. Otherwise the "flesh" is suceptible to "interptretation" that is contrary to what God is indeed saying! Yes, the Holy Spirit will guide us into all Truth, but the pathway is paved by our obedience. Many times we must step out in faith, trusting that God will accomplish what HE desires for US as individuals. I encourage you to let God do the leading, even if it is through unfamiliar waters and uncomfortable grounds. Don't deny how God may be working in the life of another just because you have not experienced something or have been disappointed by the failings of others! Blessings, Mommapbs |

Greetings Learn, I suspect that there is a misunderstanding here. For a BELIEVER or an UNBELIEVER, anything that is contrary to God's Word, or not "Christlike" is called SIN! There is nothing that a believer or an unbeliever can DO that is "good enough" to gain any favor in God's sight. Our "good works" are never "good enough" but they become "good" only AFTER an individual has accepted the free gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. I've given references in earlier post to you on this order! FATIH FIRST then "good" works!. There is no "minimum" standard for entrance into heaven. There is no standard of acheivement that we could ever meet on our own because we all have a sin nature, and sin is unacceptable to God. As discussed, Jesus is the only ONE who met God's standard for us! HE is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). Yes, God desires a closer relationship with us. It begins and CONTINUES with faith and obedience. Trusting God to keep His promises, even when we fail to keep ours! For a believer in Jesus CHrist, our relationship with God grows. But it is HE who begins and completes the work HE desires to in us!(Phi 1:6) Our responsibility is to cooperate with Him, to allow HIM to be at work within us! It's like being in a "school room." We don't get to go to the next class until we have completed the assigned work. Some may advance, others will have to repeat the course. Some may graduate, and others may find themselves in "detention" under Divine discipline! The key is that GOD is not only our Teacher, but HE does the work in and through us! The simple Truth of the Christian walk is GOD dependency (as opposed to SELF sufficiency). God wants to be exalted in EVERY area of our LIFE! When God seems to be "missing" just remember that He is as near as your call! Keep searching God's Word! He will continue to reveal Himself and His desire for you through it! Blessings, Mommapbs |

Greetings! Please understand that I agree that God's complete revelation about HIMSELF is found in His WORD! Therefore, no one can say "I have a new revelation about God." Anything we need to know about God can be found in His Word. Yet, God is VERY interested in being at the center of our day-to-day existence too. He has prepared a plan for us and a pathway to follow. Sometimes He makes it easier than others for us to discover His will, yet I think you will agree that we all encounter many "gray areas" on our journey here! God is an ever present help, especially during those times when we step out in faith to seek Him! How you "hear" His voice is God's gift to you. Indeed, as you pointed out in Hebrews, God speaks through His Son. As believers, we have the presence of Jesus within. Therefore God is no longer speaking to a select group of individuals, but He communicates through Jesus to all His children! I believe that God speaks to the believer through the indwelling Holy Spirit as we seek Him through the written Word, through circumstances, through the counsel of other God-led individuals. I also believe that God does indeed speak into our spirit with a "voice" that only one's spirit is able to "hear." (Some may have heard an "audible voice" and others may describe it as an "inward knowing") I believe that whatever God is saying, there will be agreement and unison in His voice. I believe God is pleased when we ask Him to reveal His will and seek HIS confirmation! I have found that as I learn to recognize His voice, my response time improves! Blessings, Mommapbs |

Greetings Lionstrong! When a child of God seeks Him, He promises to to be found. God responds to our prayers! I think the trouble is, too few believers actually expect Him to answer! Some people tend to "go through the motions" without any notion of connecting with God's heart. God tells us to ASK! Mt 7:7-8(Ask Seek and Knock)I'm just trying to be obedient here! Notice what HE will do when we obey Him: we will receive, we will find, and "it" will be opened! You asked: "Before you learned to recognize His voice, did you mistake someone else's voice for His?" From the following examples, I'll let you be the judge of the answer! One night I had an extremely disturbing dream. Upon waking I sought the Lord through prayer and through His Word, but I could not find peace. I realized I needed help with this and called a friend to join me in prayer before the Lord concerning this dream. She immediately came to my home and interceeded for me and together we petitioned the Lord to reveal the truth He wanted me to understand through what He had allowed into my sleep. As we were praying together I received understanding and IMMEDIATE PEACE. I did not hear any audible voice, but God very clearly "told" me the meaning of what I had seen and comforted me. This was indeed a blessing. While searching the Scriptures in order to prepare a Christmas "meditation" for my friends, God invaded my study by revealing an area of my life that was not pleasing to Him. My confession became the core of the message I was to give my friends. Lastly, I had been pleading with the Lord for the life of our 13 year old son. The doctor suspected that he had lymphoma and had ordered a CT scan. After hours of fervent prayer and many tears at 2AM on January 26, 1994 I "heard" a voice, yes, an "audible voice" which said, "Go read Psalm 41." I did not move but continued to lay in bed wondering if I was losing my mind. And then I was spoken to again, "Get up! Go read Psalm 41." To which I bolted out of bed, grabbed my Bible and read this (up until now) unknown Psalm. Please take a moment and read Psalm this for yourself! Later that morning we would learn that our son had cancer (which was at stage 4). Because I had refused to believe that I could have actually heard God's voice, I denied myself the comforting promise of this verse. After several months of struggling with doubt, I chose to simply trust God that HE had indeed given me this Psalm to tell me what He was going to do! Our son underwent two years of chemo, lost all his hair, missed over a quarter of the school year because he was sick from the treatment but during the entire time he never once had the flu or a cold. He was Divinely protected, his body matured through adolescence and he was miraculously restored. He went from stage 4 to complete remission after 4 months of treatment! Today, we continue to praise God for this healthy 22 year old young man! I cried out to the Lord and HE answered me. WHO do you think I "heard" that morning? Who else is able to do exceedingly more abundantly that we can ever imagine? God is still speaking to His beloved children! It is always a blessing to hear His voice, no matter HOW it is spoken! I hope that you will ask God to train your spiritual ears to hear Him clearly! Just ASK, believing He WILL answer! Blessings, Mommapbs |

Brother Hank - No coincidence comforts! You were indeed given a very special blessing which God knew would sustain you then and even to this very day! Since God is "supernatural" why would we expect anything less from Him? Truly, even ONE "out of the box" experience with the God of the Universe is MORE than enough isn't it? Blessings to you and yours, Mommapbs |

Jesus said, "and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." John 8:32 Let's all remember on this day when we celebration the Independence of our Nation to rejoice that we have been eternally freed from the bondage of sin by the gracious gift of God, Jesus - our Redeemer, Savior and Lord! We may not be one nation "under God," but God still pledges HIS TRUTH to us! It is this alone that frees and unites all believers! Rejoice, Beloved of the Lord, in this glorious Truth: We are One in Him! |

Greetings Searcher! Some observations: Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. Hebrews 13:4 Marriage partners are not excluded from holding their relationship "in honor among all." (I think that this key word, "honor," is needed more than ever today!) In the context of 1 Cor 7 - intimacy is a gift of God to be mutually desired and enjoyed. Refusing intimacy is to be mutally agreed upon but not for self-centered purposes. (verse 5) I agree that the Song of Songs (Solomon) is suggestive of sexual enjoyment. I am glad that it is not defined, per se, as that would appear to limit rather than allow for a varied expression of conjugal intimacies. The marraige bed "undefined," does not make it undefiled! I believe the key word in this passage of 1 Cor 7 is "agreement." Thanks Searcher! Blessings, Mommapbs |

Greetings in Christ's name Emmaus! This has been quite a stressful time for me. I have so enjoyed the discourse here at the Forum, even when I don't agree with what others post. However, to be charged with such an offense is a serious matter (to me anyway) and I do want to honor and glorify the Lord in all I do. Perhaps my reaction to rabbi mark was not as Christlike as our Lord would desire of me, so forgiveness is needed all the way around. How glad I am the it is the Lord from whom we must seek forgiveness - at least we are assured of that! Thank you for your encouragement! Walking with you in confidence that He who began a good work in us will be faithful to complete it! (Won't that be a glorious day?!) mommapbs |

Greetings in Christ's name Searcher! Thank you for the encouragement. What is the point of this Forum if we are not free to express our thoughts and ideas about God's Word? I am anxious to learn what God has revealed to others in their study. Malachi 3:16 reminds me that God is interested in our conversation around Him. It is the Holy Spirit who guides us into all truth, not men. (See 1 Cor 2)I'm dependent upon Him for discernment and discipline as well! mommapbs |

Greetings in our Saviour's Name! Welcome to the Forum. Not all threads are as challenging as this one has become. Seems that the age old struggle between men (and women) continues . . . when will we understand the truth that we are all ONE in Christ?! When we do, there will be unity - this should prompt us to "long for His appearing don't you think? Maranantha Lord Jesus! Thank you for your affirmation and encouragement. Although this discussion has had hurtful words hurled across cyberspace, it has also been personally edifiying as it has prompted me to seek the Lord for His comfort and compassion. I am a flawed vessel to be sure, but a vessel that desires to be held and used by the Master Potter for His good purpose. All things are possible through Him. May the Lord's presence in your life serve to encourage you today! Blessings, mommapbs |
