Paraclete - no matter what user name you decide to post under, your false gospel is obvious and continues to be a source of disruption to the Forum. By pushing your "doctrinal" position, you are in violation of the Forum's guidelines. The Bible is the COMPLETE revelation of God. Joseph Smith's writings are NOT part of the inspired Holy Word of God. They have NO PLACE on this Forum. You have been asked not to participate here. Please be responsive to this request. I pray that you will come to a knowledge of the Truth as presented in God's Word before it is too late. mommapbs |

Greeting, Iny! Although I'd like to "ignore" this user, when I read "his" posts to others, I think that we have a responsibility to uphold the Truth; even when we are "fed up!" My prayer is that others will also be discerning and recognize that this user, no matter what name he signs in with, is masquerading! See 2 Cor 11! "But what I am doing I will continue to do, so that I may cut off opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the matter about which they are boasting." 2Cor 11:12 Blessings, mommapbs |

Paraclete: it is truly baffling - why are you posting to this Forum? God's children are asking for Bread, to be fed on the Living Word; yet you offer only pomegranates. This is a BIBLE STUDY FORUM.

Hank, is there a tool to "report abuse?" All I see on my screen is "report problems" and then it goes from my e-mail account. I wonder if Lockman would consider adding a special field on their site so that situations such as these could be addressed in a more timely fashion. I especially appreciate the restriction of posts from the home-page, yet at times they do seem to sneak through. What really bothers me is the church's lack of knowing what the Bible really says, (or a complacent attitude toward God's Word) that hinders one's ability to discern Truth and error. Sadly, the younger generation has been raised in an educational system that continues to challenge authority and embraces relativism. This only contributes to the problem (as I see it anyway!) BUT, greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world! (1 John 4:4) mommapbs |

45 | Why are there so many books in the Bible | Bible general Archive 2 | Mommapbs | 109656
Earnest, would you care to elaborate? I believe that Hank's answer is sufficient. If God wanted there to be any more or less than what we have in our hands today we would. "But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter of the Law to fail."Luke 16:17 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. Luke 21:33 mommapbs PS: Where is your "serious answer" to the question? Please send it to the orginal poster, don't assume that they read it in the thread. |

Blessings to you and yours! You "may lose your singleness" but think of what you gain! No wonder God intended marriage to be a reflection of the Union He desires with us! BTW, I think you're quite a "catch!" God Bless you on this great adventure - mommapbs |

48 | How to "win the world" ? | Bible general Archive 2 | Mommapbs | 110018
Rowdy, I read your post and I don't disagree with what you have written, but please also understand that I am not angry, just "upset about the theatrical, peformer orientated "worship" that so characterizes the modern "evangelical" church today!" I asked, "Is nothing sacred anymore?" What does sacred mean to you? Does God think it is important? Blessings, mommapbs PS: Just today I was reflecting about a time in Whistler, BC when I started down the mountain in a cloud. Although there were piste markers, for a time I could see nothing but white. Everything blended together - I could not determine which way was up or which way was down - so I fell over. (This is called vertigo.) Without a reference point, I lost my sense of spacial position. I think that this is happening within the church too. Everything is blurring together as we import more and more of worldly influences into our sanctuaries. What is so wrong with desiring an atmosphere where the holiness of God is distinct, and discernable? Indeed Jesus came to save sinners, and we all need THE Savior; but in my opinion, that need is recognized when, just like a piste marker, a holy standard is present. |

Hi Rowdy! Please explain what you mean by this statement: "We need to keep studying God's Word with an attitude of 'better safe than sorry'." Thanks for clarifying! mommapbs |

New Creature, a resounding AMEN! A local church is in the process of creating a buffet for worship. If you want to worship in hymns you go to one room, if you want to worship with rock you go to another, then everyone watches the preacher on the big screen. Sad (:-( mommapbs |

Amen EdB - when the "worship team" or the choir finishes singing what it the response? Usually it is applause. I think I've expressed myself on this point before but . . . I understand that there are those who are genuinely moved to clap in praise FOR God, but mostly, it seems to be offered in appreciation for the efforts of the singers. Why don't we break out into wild applause when the repentant one walks the aisle? Just wondering. mommapbs |

52 | How to "win the world" ? | Bible general Archive 2 | Mommapbs | 110076
This hymn has been running through my head for a day now. I think you will find it to be quite a contrast from what we sing today! "O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Bow down before him, his glory proclaim; With gold of obedience, and incense of lowliness, Kneel and adore him, the Lord is his name." The first line is taken from 1 Chronicles 16:29 and from the Psalms (29:2 and 96:9). Blessings, mommapbs |

Greetings CDBJ - Yes, I can relate to that too. I'd not want to convey that I'm part of the "frozen chosen"! There are indeed times that I am so overcome that I can't even utter a note but magnify the Lord in my heart. And at times, I find myself just "going with the flow," - which causes me angst. I guess I long for the Day when we will all be prostrate at His feet! Holiness demands a response, and God will have it HIS WAY. What I see is man's attempt to worship God as we "see Him," which may or may not be as He IS! All too often, there is a familiarity present that diminishes MY ability to see the Lord as "high and lifted up." (I guess it must be a personal problem that I will have to let the Lord work out for me!) Blessings, mommapbs |

Greetings New Creature! Great scripture, brings to mind the words of our "worship leader" when he announced to the choir that "we will NOT go back to THAT music." (Meaning hymns etc) Won't Heaven be . . . mommapbs |

Greetings Rowdy - I am glad to see your passion for the study of God's Word - far too many believers are complacent in this area . . . right now I am reading a book on evangelism by Brian McLaren: "More Ready Than You Realize". His view of evangelism is quite different from what we have grown up with. Typically, the church is about numbers not names, sad. I believe that evangelism is found in our relationships with others. We glorify God when HE can been seen in us. We can not make Him attractive to others, but we can reflect His character. We forget that evangelism is the work of the Holy Spirit, both IN us and in those whom He is drawing. How arrogant to think that WE are responsible for another's eternal destiny! If we fail to respond, God will send another, maybe even a donkey. At this point, I'd prefer not to "spar" on the issue of eternal security. Let's agree to just stay in our corners OK? Thank you for clarifying your response. Blessings, mommapbs |

56 | Did Jesus have to die? | Bible general Archive 2 | Mommapbs | 113253
Hi Rowdy, I hope you get a chance to see the film andy maybe conisder taking someone with you who doesn't know the Truth. It is powerful and a wonderful tool to begin a dialogue. Although He came to die, I still wonder, "did He have to?" We read about His temptation and His anguish in the garden, so I ponder this possibility . . . but how thankful I am that Jesus came to DO the will of the Father and submitted Himself to it. My sins put Him on the cross, but He chose to stay there for me. The penalty for sin is death . . . without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. BTW, when you see the film I'd be interested to know what impacted you the most. For me, it was the repentant criminal. Blessings to you! mommapbs |

Rowdy - I caution you to be careful to support your dogmatic statements with the authority of Scripture. Please provide us with references for this: "Sunday is the only day of worship to the one and only God of this universe. Nothing else can get between a christian and His God on that day." So am I to conclude that I am not to worship God at any other time? In Heaven, worship is continual (Rev 4:8-11) . . . we were taught by the Lord to pray, "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven . . . (Mt 6:10) From this it seems that our worship is to be a continual expression . . . as we present our bodies as living sacrifices . . . Romans 12:1-2 Frankly, any time that anything gets between the believer and God, it is idolatry. (Thou shalt have no other gods before Me, comes to mind here Ex 20:3-5) Please honor the requests of this Forum to use Scripture! Blessings, mommapbs |

Greetings Doc! Have you read any works of Henri Nouwen? "The Return of the Prodigal" is one of my absolute favorite books - I strongly recommend it to you! I was privileged to hear Fr. Nouwen speak a few years before his death. imo, he was a spirit filled man of God who shared his life with those entrusted to his care. Blessings, mommapbs |
