421 | What would Jesus have you do? | John 4:14 | justme | 103075
Axien7z4: I have enough to keep up with things that do happen , say nothing about attempting to answer what I think about a perhaps situation. I know this would be a time to search the Scriptures and seek Gods wisdon in how He wanted me to deal with this or the actuall situation I did go through. How might you deal with this? 422 | Must we be Baptized to enter Heaven | John 4:14 | justme | 102942
Stevenl: Welcome to the Bible Study Forum. Your question is frequently asked, and most generally the real meaning is how little do I have to do to be assured on saving me from hell. I am not saying this is what you mean, it just has been the meaning before. Steven, when a person is genuine about becoming a regernated person in Jesus Christ, theu want to follow Jesus and obey His commands. Jesus said to be baptized, that alone is enough reason to follow His orders. Anyone who claimes the name of Jesus and refuses to follow Him and this command has a reason to consider their faith seriously flawed. I am not the Lord and do not know how to judge, however I would seriously doubt a non-baptized believers salvation. Theeir faith may be in their head and not the heart of their being. Why would anyone who joins the Boy Scout's not want to ware the uniforme? why would anyone saying they are aChristian not want to be baptized? What do you think about this? justme |

423 | Removing church members | 1 Cor 5:7 | justme | 102872
mtnrip: Matthew 18:15-20 is the instuctions Jesus left us with. I had the very sad experience of being a pastor of a church that went through this very difficult ordeal. I wish I could say after it was all done and over that the person repented and fellowship was returned once again. Unfortunately the person just went to the same denominationaal church but a different town about 15 miles away and was welcomed with open arms. This person has passed on, so I don't feel it is telling tales now. I would caution antone considering such a drastic step to move slowly, and asking the Lords watchcare over all concerned. I believe this is a last drastic step in a pastors leadership and the life of the church. 16 years after this experience I still feel sad for the family involved in removing their long time friend. This came down to a secret vote of the church body and there were no votes against expelling the brother. Without restoration of the one removed healing is incomplete. I hope this helps. justme |

424 | Just a thought. What's yours? | NT general Archive 1 | justme | 102505
GeorgeJoy: Greetings George. I am surer some of feel more free to express ourselves here than in our Church. For instance, very few knew of my cancer in Church, only the Elders and ppPastor and a few close to me. I did so so I would not detract any attention as our Church is in a transistion and that was far more important to me. I believe that the prayers of me alone can touch the very heart of God. More people does not mean God will be any more moved to do His will, but it does comfort the mind. George a Church does not hid behind assumed names, so as I see it you are more forth right than I, and I applaud you for that. I have rarely signed my name as it is, mainly only to Hank. Your idea of the Bible Study Forum being like a church is interesting though. I think there are similarities, but this is still a gathering place for fellowship and entertainment, which there is nothing wrong with. However this Forum can be addictive to the point we neglect our own personal Bible Study and prayers, and even other responsiblities and family. I have done this myself, and my wife has reminded me to keep it in perspective. Any thoughts George? Blessings. justme |

425 | Why can't I have several wives? | Ex 21:10 | justme | 102321
headdoc5: Welcome to the Bible Study Forum. I get a kick every time someone asks this question. Let me ask you a question or so, ok? Why would you want more than one wife? Every example of polygamy in Scripture proves to be a real sad story of wives fighting, hating, or hating the other wives children. The children have many problems, and the dumb husband plays favorites with the wives and children. Why on earth would anyone want such a mess? Lastly what makes you think that any where in Scripture God said to take more than one wife with his approval, or direction to do so? I might be wrong but when I have heard this befoe this persumption was based on sexual fantasy. If polygamy was acceptable, could you explain what adultery would be then? I would like to know your reasoning in response to my questions. Blessings justme |

427 | Insufficient grace? | Luke 14:26 | justme | 101631
seeking4truth: I hope you won't mind if I drop in on your dialogue. I hope not. I have used the Romans Road off and on for many years. The Four Spiritual Laws are another tool that has been used by many as well. I think all these "tools" are a way of helping Christians get started sharing Christ with others. I firmly believe that after one gets some maturity in Christ, we should be able to share Christ from a personally chosen way that fits each of as regenerated born again believers. I admit sadly, that few get to this point in the walk as Christians. A long time ago I felt these "canned testimonies" were rather phoney, and ineffective as well. The very disturbing problem as I see it is even if someone gets a person to agree to make Jesus Lord, who then is going to disciple this new convert? Are we to just let this new "seed" to be plucked up and out by satan? Perhaps as much emphases should be placed on the need to be able do discipleship as to witnessing? I have wondered if we said don't introduce anyone to Christ unless you are willing to either disciple or get someone else to keep this "new creation in Christ" growing. Any thoughts? Blessings. justme |

428 | Will suicide condem my soul to hell? | Bible general Archive 2 | justme | 101454
Scott88: Thank you for asking such a very important question, and welcome to the Bible Study Forum! Scott, I was a pastor of a church that had a sucide cluster of teenagers. There were several young mmen who ended their lives, and left behing a lot of unsettled matters. So I believe I can say I have dealt with this question, and I hope I can share with you answers that will be of some use. Please let me say, that suicide is a temptation that most people have thought about at some time. Yes, even I at one time gave it some thought. Most of us have dealt with serious depression that so foggs up our outlook we can't see the light of day, and this is hell on earth when you get to this point. I believe that we lose sight of what kind of suicide is the most dreaded, that blinds our eyes and does in fact result in eternal death. I am refereing to Spiritual suicide, and that Scott will lead to eternity in hell. Spiritual suicide is rejecting Jesus Christ as LORD. Rejecting Jesus and saying no I don't need you Jesus, is spiritual suicide! There is NO HOPE after death for this, none at all. Scott if a person who has never accepted as Lord, Jesus Christ, and ends their life then they are condemed to hell. Perhaps what's so frightening is that many people ending their lives believe that in death it just could not be any worse than life as it is for them right then and there. But in truth it does in deed get much worse, forever and ever! Hell without end! There is nothing worse Scott! When we have Jesus Christ as Lord there is more than hope beyond death, for all eternity we will be with the Lord. I would suggest you read St. John chapter 3, all of the verses, paying attention to verse s 17-the end of the chapter. Scott I don't know if you are considering ending your life or not. For the sake of being sure I will talk to as if you are. Ok? Please call your pastor or Priest or parent, or a friend. Talk to someone right now! There is a small space of time in which ppeople might end their life, and talking will help you to get through this period, until you can get some answers to what hurts so badly. God so loves you He has put this Forum here so we could tell you God Loves you just as you are! No matter what the problem NOTHING IS TOO BIG FOR GOD! Scott as i write this right now I am praying for you! I pray dear Lord for Scott or whom ever Scott knows who might be considering ending their life, please Jesus make yourself known right as this is read and prove your love to Scott right now! I ask you dear Jesus to step in and free this person from the trap of Satan to have this person believe death would be better than life. I pray this in Jesus name Amen. Scott I want you to call someone right now, please. If this is not you, then call the peroooson who maybe considering suicide. Scott this could be the most important thing you ever do, please, please act right now. I would like to hear from you to know how you are, please. I am praying right now. justme |

433 | times Mary appeared | NT general Archive 1 | justme | 97645
havequestions: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. I am a protestant, and will answer from that view point, ok. Mary was a special Humman woman that God so Chose her to Bare His Son in Humman form. Jesus was concieved by the Will of the Holy God. There was no one who had the requirements God needed for His Son in all of time past, then present, and now furture. Mary is worth of praise and our deepest respect, but not our worship or prayers. Mary did have other children with Joseph. When Mary died (Hebrews 9:27) she died as we will. From that time forth she has been with Jesus and appeared to no one. I have been to Bolivia, Pureu, Mexico, Columbia, and several places they have special spots where Mary appeared. These are not to gloriofy Jesus but Mary, which goes against Scripture. What or who these pppppeople claimed to see is open to question. There is no doubt in my mind it was not Mary. If you want to dialogue this more form my perspective I will. Blessings. justme |

436 | Angel of Light? | Heb 9:27 | justme | 96822
lateecia: Thank you for taking the time to write such a long response. Having been with number of those who had long term terminal ill people until they died, I can atest to this with some practicle experience. Also my education in CPE allowed me even more time to see first hand study o NDE's. Satan was an angel and he took with hin one third of the angels with him according to Scripture. I am convienced you are quite ardent about your belief in NDE's and I would rather not argue with you on this serious subject. I have given what I believe is solid Scriptual opinion. I am more concerned is a person has genuinely been made a New Creature in Christ before death than any NDE. I think that is by far the most important aspect of death is where we spend eternity. Blessings. justme |

437 | A New Reformation? | Revelation | justme | 95788
New Creature: I admire your courage to keep praying and looking for Chriistians to return to their first Love, and sinners burdened with the weight of slavery to satan. Your are correct the body of Christ on earth do desperately need reforming! I also addd revival is a word often misused, it is for Christians to be revived. Now a crusade is a good term to use to reach unsaved people for Christ. How does or will this start? With each one of us making personal life style changes, taking an active role in reaching out in deeds of kindness doing so in Jesus name. Then wwhen we have touched a ppersons life we have the right to share Christ. We live in a world that see's rich false healer, teachers. These false teachers bring in massive crouds aand perform their majic triks of deception, and rake in huge sums of money! Is this any example of Jesus teachings? I say theeir mentor was Judas! I do not think we will see true reformation or revival in the United States or Canada unless some very drastic event threatens our survival. I believe people rarely change except for fire, earthquake, war, or some crisis serious enough to shake the country at its foundation. For me 911 was very serious, but I am refering to several mega times more wide spread to see a massive return to true Christianity. With our Supreme Court making such ungodly court rulings, and a nation of baby killers (over 40 have been murdered now), and a people who have the morals of sodom, how much longer before God says enough? To answer your question "Do you feel it's time for the church to go through another period of Reformation?" My aanswer it, "The time is long past, it's too late now, the axe is already at the tree!" I believe the great tribulation is now started or will soon start. Blessings! justme |

I caution you, there will be a price to pay by some who continue to spread this cult upon ignorant believers. This will be a never ending dogma exchange by the WOF few that continue to disrupt this forum. I have no idea why they are allowed to be on the forum. Blessings. justme |
